Traveling from Boston to DC, and decided to try out this restaurant. THE best Xinjiang/Uyghur restaurant we have ever had in US! We re-ordered three times and brought dessert back to hotel. The service and people are very nice. Will definitely come back again whenever we visit DC!! 羊肉串,cold noodles, Samoa(?)..everything is more than just enthusiastic!! Best meal of the trip so far!! Highly recommended!!
Literally 2 spit for $70. Ordered chicken noodle soup, lamb kebab, beef manti, eggplant salad and flat bread. Instead of chicken noodle soup they brought soup with dumplings. We refused. then they brought a lamb kebab, after some time manti. I asked where is the salad? It looks like they forgot about it, as well as about flat bread (which was never brought in the end). When they brought the salad, the lamb kebab was already cold, which I informed the waiter and he just warmed it in the microwave so that the already too small portion became microscopic in size, plus a third of the pieces were just fat. As a result, flat bread and soup with dumplings were included in the bill. Terribly disliked the service and portion size.
We visited this restaurant. Loved the menu variety and service. Special thanks to the waiter Simon, who helps with the choice of dishes.
This restaurant is great!! We ordered the soziman, kebab, honey cake, cold skin noodles, and hot chicken stew.Food came out quickly and was delicious. Very flavorful and handmade noodle texture was perfect. Staff were very courteous and inside is very clean and well decorated. Highly recommend! We will definitely come back anytime we are in town
We visited Bostan for dinner, and the food and service were really great! Our waiter was really nice and courteous, and the food came out at a reasonable time (15-20 min). We ordered eggplant salad, Bostan laghman, dry fried soman, pumpkin manta, lamb skewers and dapanji. Everything was super fresh and extremely tasty. I would definitely come back. The honey cake was a great dessert !
Going to address timing first because that seems to be a concern with this restaurant based on previous reviews. My husband and I called in to place an order on a Sunday night and was told the time to complete the order would be 50-60mins. We read reviews that they can be slow so we called in advance of us being hungry so that time frame was alright for us. We got there around the 1 hour mark but waited another 15-20 mins for them to complete our order. It seems like there were about 12 other customers dining in at the restaurant and a few people picking up deliveries. We suspect that the restaurant first prioritizes getting food out to customers in the restaurant then the take outs via delivery platforms (bc there’s a set time they are expected to complete the orders by), and lastly the call-in take out orders. We wonder if they didn’t actually start cooking our food until we were there in person. And I suspect timing for dine in and delivery might be better than take out. However, with that said, we thought the dishes were delicious. All very flavorful and the noodle textures are spectacular. Also, good thing about the food being prepared last minute is that they were still very hot by the time we ate which was great. I also wanted to try their honey cake because I’ve liked honey cakes in the past and let me tell you, their honey cake is the best tasting honey cake I’ve ever had!! You have to try it!All in all, I think because we managed our expectations that this place would be slow, it didn’t bother us too much. And we really enjoyed the food so I guess we felt like the wait was worth it. Would try dining in there at some point or doing take out again!
Excellent! A must try. Had the the pumpkin manta, eggplant salad, dry fried noodles (beef) and spicy chicken. I loved all. The eggplant salad was fantastic. Support the Uyghur’s in our community.
As part of our Olympic protest we decided to try all the Uyghur restaurants in NOVA. I can say with complete confidence Bostan is by far the best. Oh My Goodness was it good!! Everything was fresh and perfectly spiced. The whole family could not stop raving about it and a real rarity every plate was clean. Seriously. 5 stars.
The food was absolutely amazing and totally worth the wait. Fortunately, we had not sat down together for a while and had lots of catching up and talking to do...I think one more server might help, but not sure what is happening behind the scenes. When we finally got our first dish of food (lamb kabob but it was really shredded lamb w/a few mixed veggies -- totally savory and wonderful), we had to ask for utensils, plates, and napkins as well as water. We received the appetizer very last (the eggplant which was unique and fabulous). The other dish was a fried noodle dish w/beef (a few entries below the Bostan noodle special on the menu). We tried multiple dishes and shared so we could experiment -- and can't wait to go back and try more. I think each dish was being specially prepared and each was unique and delicious. However, hesitating right now whether to go as I'm not sure I want to make a long night of it. This restaurant is a huge asset to our community so I hope they are able to iron out these early wrinkles.
The food was wonderful. I wish the venue did not have a fast-food vibe, but to be honest, we came for the food and not the decor, and Bostan did not disappoint. The bread was a little dry, though.
