We took our thai mother here as a surprise and she just loved it! The food was truly authentic and the everyone that works there was so polite and attentive. We got our food pretty fast and the staff checked on us often to make sure we had everything we needed. Cost was reasonable and you are given nice portion sizes. Great experience, great atmosphere, would come here again
Visiting DC with the family for a summer vacation and it daughters found this Thai restaurant. The wait staff were all very friendly, but the food.... wow! IT WAS SO GOOD! We stop at Thai restaurants every place we visit and this one by far has been the best so far!
This place is one of our favorites!! They have so many great veg options- and their mock duck is the best thing ever! They make great cocktails too, and you can always ask to get a drink less sweet. I recommend the lychee martini. The have great happy hour options too.
We have been regulars at Bangkok 54 since 2010, having lived in the Pentagon City neighborhood nearby for many years when we started patronizing it. Though we moved away from the old neighborhood over ten years ago, we have stayed loyal patrons, even through the pandemic. Once a favorite, now the quality seems to have declined. I regret having to write a 3 * review today, but the food taste, quality and freshness has definitely suffered. The Chicken Pad Thai that we ordered today amongst a few dishes (for delivery) tasted distinctly sour, and something was not quite fresh/possibly even spoiled in it (hopefully not). As a loyal patron, I hope the management takes notice and acts on this constructive feedback. The rest of the dishes, including the papaya salad, spicy eggplant etc. were great, as always. I look forward to returning in person and enjoying the food and service at this fine dining establishment again. Thank you for many years of enjoyment that you have provided our family and we look forward to our return.
I recently had the chance to visit this establishment again as it has been fairly consistent. While the staff are always friendly and food is consistent, this time unfortunately was an exception. Where we were seated, there were lots of dead fruit flies on the window sill and upon getting my food, they started swarming over my food and landing on it. I notified the server of this and they appeared to have a nonchalant attitude about it. I asked to take my order to go and was a little annoyed that I wasn’t able to have lunch. While I like supporting local places, I’m. It sure this would be one which I go back to.

I am new in the Arlington area. My family craved for a good spicy Thai restaurant for takeout. We decided to check reviews online and chose Bangkok 54 because it was closer and had good reviews. To play it safe since we are not familiar with this restaurant, we decided on spicy pineapple fried rice. Firstly, they said they can't spice it...hmmm :( but they will give us spicy sauce on the side. That should have been a red flag. Nevertheless, we ordered three chicken pineapple fried rice takeout. I have eaten Thai food for over 30+ years, I was disappointed. The food was bland .. to say the least. It could easily pass for Chinese fried rice in a mall. I'll try other Thai restaurants in the area
first they could improve by not having roaches in their facility. I found a roach in my papaya salad.
