Just had fantastic duck at other Chinese restaurant (in person). Craving it so decided to order duck and fish here - (new place to me). Duck skin cool. Duck cut thick and no meat on bone. Flavor did not compare to other place. Fish packed wet. Fish taste ok but I like when delivered with sauce on side and steamed vegetables so not soggy. Very expensive. Not so good. The delivery did come quickly after I ordered. I understand difference between in restaurant versus take out. May be great in restaurant - but as far as takeout - would not do again. A lot of money and just was not very good. Sorry.
Kung Pao Chicken wasn’t fresh and had way too much duck sauce. Way too sweet. The rice that they gave me tasted weird and not fresh.
Very disappointed as many people suggested this place. The duck was very dry. The beef with rice noodles was not appetizing and beef was tough. The rice was mushy and it was mixed with something . Waste of money.
Have tried several Peking duck restaurants in DC and VA. Duck Chang is the best by far. The owners/staff are all super friendly. The whole duck is served separately with crispy skin and the meat with all the bones removed. The wrapper, sauce and scallions are perfect compliments. Must try if you enjoy Peking duck!
we had out of town family members visiting and ordered a banquet from Duck Changs. Everything was very good, beautifully cooked and packaged--We have been grateful customers of Duck Chang's since they opened.
Went for the Peking Duck and was very satisfied. I think this place is tastier than any other place I tried when I was in Beijing. Cozy and nice atmosphere too.
Good food and good conversation with the owner. There is a parking lot right out front and they take credit card. The onion for the Peking Duck was fresh and the wrap was light (which I am a fan of). Peking Duck was cooked well and the sauce was good too.
A good Chinese restaurant if you know what to order.The dumplings were absolutely delicious and probably among the best I have eaten.There are a few Chinese eateries that quite obviously just fry up supermarket dumplings. This is not one of them. The skin was crisp yet firm, and you can taste that the vegetables, the scallions or leeks inside were fresh.The Peking duck was also fantastic. The skin was the most crispy of all the Peking ducks in the area; China Wok and Peking Gourmet in usually leave a little more fat for a firmer texture.I didn't enjoy the noodles or the pan fried vegetables though. Those seemed a bit mediocre. The sauce was a bit too strong and there was a bit too much of it.All in all, a decent restaurant, worth coming again to. 3-4 star range.
I really wanted to try this place after reading all the great reviews. My husband and I decided to go here around 1600 during the week. The place was completely deserted so we immediately got a table. We ordered half the Peking duck, the combination fried rice and the curry beef. The duck was very crispy but for a place named ‘Duck Chang’s ‘ I expected it to be phenomenal and I was not. I gave 3 stars for the duck but that was all. The other two dishes were terrible. The beef curry tasted like a tablespoon of artificial flavoring star anise had been added to it and the beef in the curry was a tad rancid. The rice in the fried rice was very stale- not the making fried rice fresh from rice you cooked the day before flavor, but more like the fried rice may be have been made a few days before and reheated in the microwave flavor.The prices are also exorbitant for the quality of the food - duck $31, fried rice $21, beef curry $22. The service was good , the couple that worked/owned the place were very pleasant and attentive.If you want ‘okay’ tasting Peking duck maybe give this place a go but it definitely cannot be the best Peking duck place in northern Virginia.
Great authentic Chinese dishes. We ordered Beef Chow Fun and General Tso's Chicken. Both were delicious. Superb customer service. Definitely coming back. Highly recommend Duck Chang's
