Grace was such a pleasant face for this restaurant. Food was excellent. Will definitely be back.

We were in Alexandria celebrating my son’s birthday, and decided to try Yunnan by Potomac for something different. We tried several small plates, several steamed buns, veggie dumplings, chicken thigh bbq skewers, and the noodle lettuce wraps. Everything was both delicious and attractive. The drinks (virgin and alcoholic) were great too. For a special birthday dessert, we were offered a complimentary cheesecake which both kids loved! Service was so friendly and very thoughtful of our young children! The restaurant space is modern and pretty spare, it filled up quickly on a Friday night. Overall, this was a great meal—so glad we decided to visit!

My group had the best time at Yunnan by Potomac Noodle House! The menu is great for sharing, and we tried dishes from just about every section of the menu. Everything tasted absolutely incredible. Our server was really helpful in giving recommendations too. I’ll definitely be back!

Very tasty!

I liked the dumplings and dessert and not my main course, but my guests enjoyed theirs. You have to experiment with ordering.

Delicious food, pleasant outdoor seating, and fantastic service. Excellent vegetarian options, particularly the Tofu ZHǍDÒUFǓ which can be upgraded to include crispy bao buns and chili oil. Three appetizers was so much food to share with my girlfriend we didn't even order a noodle entree. Will have to come back to try!

Delicious, interesting food. Caring, knowledgeable service

Lamb skewers, pork belly bao, and white sangria were all amazing. The beef noodle soup was average. I'll definitely be back.

***Review for outdoor dining only*** It’s not an exaggeration to say that everything on the menu is good, and I love that you can order extra tea eggs on the side. Outdoor dining is shaded by buildings (for dinner, at least), but isn’t covered. This may be why they seem to have a pretty low inclement weather tolerance when is comes to providing outdoor service. Definitely call ahead to make sure it’s available if that’s what you’re looking for. The only negative (minor and isolated to the outdoor dining experience) is that, while the street’s mostly a quiet one, the restaurant’s located along a well-traveled bus route, so the noise can be a little intrusive on occasion. Overall, Yunnan has some of the best food in the DMV. Give it a try!

The food is outstanding. Prices slightly high. Outside seating was well known by birds / under a quite active tree, so if you’re sensitive to their presence sit indoors.
