If you want overpriced drinks that taste like something a drunk college kid would enjoy, than you found your place. They are juvenile for sure and have no taste other than cheap and strong. We ended up here during a ghost tour of the city and unfortunately ordered their signature old fashioned along with a few other drinks for my companions. It was close to the worst one I had ever consumed in almost 30 years. The other drinks were also so sugary sweet that a normal person wouldn't find them palatable or could possibly finish them without an upset stomach. On top of that they automatically added gratuity of 22%! Laughable. It shows their lack of compassion for their customers in providing a quality product and trying to create repeat business. I certainly won't return and wouldn't recommend you go. There are just too many other places to go instead. So if you want to spend $50 on drinks that you will only take one sip of, shudder in disgust and never touch again, this is your place. The only good thing about this place is the architecture of the building and it's historical significance. Luckily that exists all over Alexandria.
I absolutely love it here. I think it’s a great spot for Sunday brunch, with a friend, a date or for a family brunch. The menu has a ton of options so everyone will find something.I love sitting out on the sidewalk at the high top tables. It’s shaded yet sunny. The mimosa flight is a great option for someone who casually wants to drink, a good price point too.The pimento cheese biscuits are a MUST.I’m usually team savory at brunch but the recently added strawberry ricotta pancakes were SO GOOD.I can’t wait to return.
We dined in the main bar area, and the bartenders were very friendly and efficient. Food was good. Later, we joined a group of friends in the whiskey bar for drinks. They have an extensive variety of good bourbons and other whiskeys, and the bartender was highly skilled at mixing up specialty drinks. Union Street Public House will be on our itinerary any time we visit Old Town Alexandria.
We had trouble finding a place with seating available for lunch but we were able to grab the last open table in the bar area here. The food was tasty and the staff was kind and prompt. We’ll be back next time we’re in Alexandria.
Not many options to choose from, but the selections hit the mark. Among the many eateries in the area, you can't really miss if your expectations are average. For the lack of selection alone, this is a good place to chalk up among the Ok's on the list.
This was our first visit and we will be sure to visit again. I loved the atmosphere. I wish I would have gotten the name of our waiter because he was just a very nice guy. We started with oysters. This was the only food choice I hope the restaurant improves. They oysters were just ok. We had clam chowder soup also - yum. Then trout - very yum and Gumbo with pasta - yum. And then ended with a banana bread pudding - very yum. All the while our waiter kept a very good eye on us to make sure we were happy.
I wish I could give this place an negative zero. So today my good friend and I biked the Mount Vernon trail and it was amazing. Beautiful weather and just amazing, until we decided to end our evening with Union place. I ordered the Chicken Salad BLT and Wings and my ordered the grilled vegetables sandwich. Good fast service but upon arrival the Chicken Salad had a very recognizable soured mayonnaise taste. My friend doesn’t eat meat so she couldn’t confirm so she told me to try eating the wings to cleanse my palette. I asked for my wings to be double cooked and I literally got a raw bird without it’s feathers. Went back to chicken salad but I couldn’t because I started dry heaving. My friend still hasn’t gotten her food and I saw the guy who seated me outside and I told him about the food. I than asked for just an BLT and they literally grabbed new bread and brought out the three strips of bacon from the Chicken Salad. To top that it had an whole sliced red onion on it. My friends food arrived after my food was left and her sandwich is missing the mozzarella that’s part of the grilled veggies sandwich. Terrible is an understatement. I actually feel nauseous from the two bites of chicken salad I had eaten. Basically I paid 60 bucks for the nastiness food ever. I’m thankful to have dodged a bullet by not eating the spoiled chicken salad.
Lively family friendly pub atmosphere. Excellent food and service. One of our new favorites!
Union Street is like the “Cheers” of Old Town! Great food and drink, great scene at the bar, lots of sports on TV’s and my friends Bruce and Al, that take care of you there, are the best!
We enjoyed a terrific dining experience here today. We had a late lunch/early dinner here and the food was excellent. The service was top notch and the bartender, Christopher was entertaining and engaging. He was attentive to our needs and kept us engaged. Even the background music was low and pleasing with classic rock. We will certainly return.
