I had a hankering for southern style fried chicken and a friend recommended Uncle C's to me. Best part - it's halal! The place is clean and well maintained inside and it was busy at 9 on a Saturday night. The staff are friendly although service can be a bit slow. There's a wait after you order but the plus side is your food is hot and fresh. I ordered a 3 piece chicken and waffle - you get to choose your pieces and with two thighs and a tender, it's honestly enough to share between two people. I also ordered the mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was amazing - cheesy and delicious. The waffle was so good, fluffy and very lightly sweet and served with breakfast syrup on the side (since I took it home I used maple and it was excellent). The chicken was crisp and hot but I had to knock a star down because it was salty. First bite you're like ok this is a lil salty - midway you can no longer eat it and have to pull off all the skin (which is the best part!). It's a good bang for your buck and maybe they had an off day - I'll have to give them another chance.
It's not awful. I got the chicken (tenders) and waffles, as well as mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. The waffles were delicious and fluffy and the chicken tenders were nice and crunchy, and they have the taste of BBQ which was unexpected and personally not something I wanted to taste. The Mac n cheese was too cheesy, which made them mushy in a bad way. The mashed potatoes were ok too. (I took a bite out of everything before taking a picture)Service was fast so no complaints there.I'd only go again if I wanted to bring someone who's never gone, but I'd never go here on the regular.
Food here was delicious! Definitely stop by and try it!1. Chicken is super crispy and prepared at order so it comes out hot!2. Waffles are fresh, soft , and fluffy.3. The restaurant is really clean.4. Servers are friendly and it's just an overall good experience.
I don’t like NOBODY candied yams. Honey Chile, I’m from the Deep South and a cook and baker to boot. I have been known to throw an entire plate out of its not up to standard. These yams are syrupy, cinnamon-y, soft, and sweet. The Mac and cheese??? A baked dish of real cheddar, no processed cheese food here! I would go back in a minute.
The chicken is delicious. However I went and ordered Mac and cheese as a side and they put Mac and cheese on the lid. I got home and it was yams. So I got two side orders of yams. They have no phone number so I’m unable to call and have them fix it. I can’t go back now because they will be sold out of Mac and cheese since it’s so close to their closing time.

First time here. Waffles were delicious. Mac and Cheese was great and cheesy. The chicken had a good flavor but didn't stick much to the chicken. I liked that you can pick and choose the pieces, however, they don't have breast with bone. They had tenders which my kids said were good. Will definitely be coming back. Service as fast and efficient. They could probably work on getting the tables clean after people get up, but we honestly don't mind cleaning them up ourselves if it means having a place to sit.
Only negative it is very popular and the wait can be long. Some of their food is only available during lunch hours. However, the chicken is to die for. I don't know what they do but damn it is good. Customer service could be better. The Nashivlle Chicken sandwich was ok it wasnt hot. Stick to the fried chicken and the waffles. The waffles were very good.
Tasty chicken place. The concept of eating waffle and fried chicken is unique but actually taste good. The fried chicken is not as crispy as Popeyes but its as good if not better. The mac and cheese is also good. Only thing to keep in mind its all dark meat. If you want white meat then they give chicken tenders for same price. There is no extra charge for white meat. All the menu is halal and signs are displayed as well.
We tried Uncle C’s today and were not disappointed! I got chicken and waffles. I wanted to try the different types of chicken, so I mixed and matched. The tender was too dry and the wing hardly had any meat. The leg though…. Soooo perfect! The seasoning, the crunch, the tenderness of the meat. The waffle was also good. My husband got the Nashville hot sandwich and liked that the chicken was not saturated in sauce, just added to the bun. He said it was great. Mac n cheese was okay, not creamy enough for me, but not bad. No pictures because we were too eager to eat! Last, the place was super clean!
