It wasn’t bad but I have for sure tried better fried chicken sandwiches in my life.We had the waf waf chicky chicky, the fried chicken sandwich and fries. You order at the counter, they give you a number and they bring the food to your table. And if you need anything else (napkins, etc) you need to go to the bar and ask for it.They give you plastic cutlery .
The Nashville chicken sandwich is seriously the best chicken sandwich I ever had in my life! Love the amazing tasty spicy coating and it’s fried juicy and tender - It’s all I want to eat now! Also tried the “bowl” was even better with lettuce and no bun, bigger than expected. Amazing!!
I was disappointed. I expected to eat tasty spicy chicken tenders and fries. However, everything was over seasoned yet it had no flavor.
Chicken sandwich was dry, little flavor (I got “dang hot”), some of the lettuce was old, and end tomato cuts.It was called “Fricken Good”, but tasted like breaded nothingness.Maybe I ordered at the wrong time because the pictures I see here look awesome. You can’t charge $10.75 for that, go to Chick-fil-A.Fries were decent.
Whenever I'm in Alexandria, I always need to eat here. The Albert Egg'stein sandwich for me is transcendent. I mean, you look at the menu and pause, wondering if pimento cheese and apple butter go together (especially on a fried chicken sandwich with bacon and egg)... But! The person who thought it up is a masterpiece. This place has ruined all other chicken sandwiches for me.
Came here with my husband and my dad, who is in a mobility scooter, last night. We had just come off the back of another terrible experience trying to eat elsewhere and decided to try in here and I’m so glad we did. Firstly they let us order off both The Rub menu and the Hen Quarter which is upstairs, I don’t know if this was a flexibility given that we couldn’t make it upstairs with the scooter or if they always do this but either way it was really appreciated and we ordered off both menus. My dad had the shrimp platter and my husband and I shared the bucket of chicken which came with a huge amount of sides and was easily the best fried chicken I have ever had. The service was really friendly, including a man who served us the food from the downstairs kitchen and who came to thank us for coming when we left. He may have been the owner and was just so warm and welcoming. I will definitely be back!
Had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with the highest level of heat (cluckin' hot) and it was great! The chicken was freshly fried to perfection, and the Mac and cheese side was great as well.
I tried the rub in Dec 2020 and had an ok experience. It was my first restaurant since the lockdown and I was hoping for an eye opening meal. It may have been a combination of my pandemic gitters but I was underwhelmed. I had the Nashville hot and my wife ordered the plain sandwich. Neither sandwich jumped out as memorable. That being said, it wasn't bad but just not memorable.

This place is the bomb! It's what Chick-fil-A wishes it could be but it's so much better. Highly recommend. If I lived near it I'd eat there all the time.
