My niece and I visited this location two weekends ago and the service was awful. The staff not professional to my niece and I at all. The restaurant was crowded with standing room only, so we ended up standing at the end of the bar. After standing there for almost 5 minutes a young lady came over said hi, drop a menu on the counter in front of us and walked away. We stood there another 5 mins or so looking over the menu until my niece and I noticed we were not being treated with service that other’s were. My niece and I are African Americans and were the only one of color there at this time except for a female and two male workers. We finally decided not to spend our money at this location where you could feel the since of not being welcome. I rated this location a (1) I now give a rating a (0). Reading over some of the other reviews I noticed others were treated with the same disrespect.

Nice place. Just came by for one drink. Was hesitant with some of the reviews but glad I came out came by. Nice staff. Clean. Yummy drink.
Love this place. Drinks are super on point and the food is surprisingly really great as well. This is our new "go to" place to take people when they are in town
What a neat bar! This little gem of a bar was great to visit! The drinks were so good! We stopped in during our girls day out. They do not serve drinks until 3. We each got 2 drinks with the help of recommendations from the bartender. He was very knowledgeable about the drinks and what was in them. He made a suggestion I was hesitant about but ended up loving! The drinks do change so if you visit at different times of the year the menu may not have the same items. We will definitely visit again!
The drinks were creative, we tried two one was excellent the citrus mule and the other wasn't as great ..way too sweet and I like sweet drinks. Wanted to order another but the place was understaffed and couldn't get another before we had to leave. All in all cute place, interesting take on drinks and good music. I would go back again.
Wasn't sure what to expect with some mixed reviews but we were passing through Alexandria and hungry late at night.. not many places still serving a dinner menu at that time. The menu was limited but we tried one of the burgers, the fries, and chickpeas. I'd probably not get the chickpeas again because the fries were SOoO good and a large portion to share. The prices were great for the quality of food and portion. Eddie was on staff and he was the best! I'd definitely come back.. would love to try their lunch menu!
Conservative Review: We received poor service due to wait time.Personal Experience:The full menu was not available at 6:30PM on a Saturday. Paired our order down to just drinks and waited over 10 minutes before walking up and asking the bartender, in front of my waiter, if our drinks had been at least placed in a shaker. I was told they were not so I respectfully cancelled the items and walked to Mackie's where we had a great experience.(If you are going to expand your outdoor seating, you need more than one mixologist. This was disappointing.)
This place is so fun. Tiny but good food and drinks and a really cute vibe.
The peoples Drug is definitely one of my favorite hangouts in Alexandria, Va it’s right off king street so after a day of shopping a nice drink and some food is always amazing. I love how the servers/bartenders are friendly. THE DRINKS ARE NICE AND STRONG. DEFINITELY WORTH THE 5 stars
