There's so many good food places in this area, don't bother with this one because they won't bother with you.Went for Friday night dinner - took an hour to get the check and leave after only being able to get an appetizer and drinks. The place was (rightfully so) mostly dead besides the bar area.Took 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order. Another 10 and they come back for our food order but tell us they are only serving a tiny portion of the menu... 30 minutes after we sat down. Another 30 minutes later and we finally got the check so that we could go get dinner at a restaurant. The drink tasted distinctly of dish soap with visible suds on top. I would be surprised if there wasn't still soap in the cup from when the dish was washed because I've never had a mixed drink taste so repulsive.I'm not usually very critical of food but it was also the worst buffalo chicken dip I've ever seen or had and it was served with seven (7) tortilla chips for two people. Looked like it had come from a can of something? Tasted like baby food that had been mixed with hot sauce packets from your kitchen drawer and then left out to mold...I remember people being surprised when the Fairfax location closed but it absolutely makes sense now.
Slow service is the primary downfall of this place. I thought this was a safe choice in an unfamiliar area. We have had positive experiences at other Greene Turtle restaurants that we regularly patronize, but this Greene Turtle proved to be unacceptable in almost every way. We visited twice over the weekend of 4/30-5/1/22, for lunch on Saturday and dinner on Sunday evening. Sunday dinner gets less than 1 star. It was horrible from the moment we walked in the door when the host, despite the fact there were practically no other patrons in the place, was slow to respond, and got very indignant when we objected that she was trying to seat our group of 8--eight--in a BOOTH. Service was slow. The server was pleasant and apologetic enough, but the bar and kitchen staff clearly were not hustling. Minor items like requested dipping sauces were not provided. I don't know about others' foods, but my burger was of a very poor quality meat (bone fragments or gristle--something unpleasant throughout), was not cooked as ordered, and basically was the worst meal I have ever experienced at a Greene Turtle. The check was well over $200, but we did not punish our server for the failings of the kitchen, bar, host station and management. Saturday lunch gets 4 stars and was mainly acceptable, except service was, again, very slow on the back end despite no crowd. I had the always reliable Ty Cobb salad, and the other three in my group had no complaints.
We come here regularly, like at least a few times a month for drinks and often times for apps, as it’s really close to our house. The food is good and the drinks are good, there’s no real complaints there. The service however…… is god AWFUL. It’s terribly slow and inexperienced. You could walk up to the bar and stand there for 20 minutes while the bar tender picks at her nails and looks at you and still not get a drink. Tonight, we had TWO separate workers ask if we have been helped yet in a 30 minute time span and then never come back. In that time, not only did we just walk out but so did two other tables full of people not being helped. It’s honestly as if this company only hires people with no work ethic. Weird tactic but go off, I guess.
Numerous times we have had positive experiences at other restaurants in this chain, and the Heneska Loop Greene Turtle is the worst in every way. I thought this was a safe choice in an unfamiliar area. Visited twice over the weekend of 4/30-5/1/22, for lunch on Saturday and dinner on Sunday evening. Saturday lunch gets 4 stars, mainly good except service was very slow despite no crowd. I had the always reliable Ty Cobb salad. Sunday dinner gets less than 1 star. It was horrible from the moment we walked in the door when the host, despite the fact there were practically no other patrons in the place, was slow to respond, and got very indignant when we objected that she was trying to seat our group of 8 in a booth instead of at a table. Service was, again, slow. The server was pleasant enough, but the bar and kitchen staff clearly were not hustling. Minor items like requested dipping sauces were not provided. I don't know about others' foods, but my burger was of a very poor quality, was not cooked as ordered, and basically was the worst meal I have ever experienced at a Greene Turtle. We decided to go here at opening because we lots of family in town for a first communion and Mother’s Day. With literally no one else in the place our table of 10 should not have been an issue, however our service was Horrible!! We waited well over 1 and 1/2 hours for our food and many items were either burnt or ice cold. All 3 burgers were burnt and lukewarm, loaded tater tots were were so cold the cheese had coagulated, and the Nova chicken bowl was missing items. I would not plan to visit unless you have an enormous amount of time to waste.
Came for the first time ever last week and the service from Shelia was so amazing I came back three more times since then. The food is regular bar food. Every recommendation she had, I devoured. Modifying the pork nachos to the spicy bbq sauce won over my heart, just like adding salmon to the shrimp pasta. The restaurant and food are good, Shelia makes the EXPERIENCE phenomenal, you don't get that many places.
Had a great time, there was music and dancing. Besides the atmosphere, the best part of my dinner was the service I received. Sheila had prompt service with a smile every time. She made the food taste better and the drinks seem stronger! Go here and make sure you sit in her section!
I have never eaten at this particular Greene Turtle location before, but I have gone a few times for a drink. Every now and again they are lacking certain alcoholic beverages which is not a huge deal to me, but can be annoying at times. I definitely feel like the place can stand to be renovated and it 'high-key' has an old mop water/feet smell that is hard to block out unless you've had a couple of stiff ones(?). Nevertheless, their staff is always friendly & offer the best customer service experience that they can. The vibe in general at this location has been very chill every time that I've gone.
The waitress was really sweet, just seems new.The food was typical bar food.
Samantha is the best!! She helped with a drink that was not on the menu! Def ask for her!❤️
