The food was very good. But I ordered a carnitas burrito to go with no onions. After I got home, the burrito had onions on it.
Quesadilla was a hit! Tacos were a little dry, needed the hot sauce. Will visit again.
My new go to spot for authentic Mexican food. It's a hole in the wall, but it's one of the better places around.
Tacos are SO GOOD!!! I always get the al pastor with everything on them, and sometimes chips & guac too. The corn tortillas are so delicious and soft (they make them in-house maybe?), and the tortilla chips are freshly fried with your order. The flavors are great in the tacos, the salsas they have are delicious, and I will continue coming here when I get a craving for some delicious authentic tacos. I usually buy 4 and it’s only like $11!! Go to any restaurant in DC or Old Town and 4 tacos would be like $20 lol. You have to try this place!! I can’t say enough good things.
I've known about this spot for about 10 years now and I can tell you this is authentic Mexican food, the guys who make the goodies are really from Mexico so they know grandma recipes, I didn't know about their catering service till recently so I decided to place a big order of delicious tacos, I called them a day before my reunion just to make sure if I had to pay some sort of deposit or something, but no, they didn't require that for my order, the tacos were on time and everybody in my reunion were amazed with the tacos. ?Updated:We were out craving for tacos and this place was open on Thanksgiving!!! We ordered carry out order, tasty as always, we love them!!?❤
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Definitely not worth it. This place has no customer service. The people working here do not know how to treat customer. It's over price the food is not even worth it. I order taco de lengua, was not cooked at all. torta de asada wasn't even good The meat wasn't cooked all the way. The Tamarindo juice doesn't even taste like Tamarindo. Horchata juice tasted like rice pudding. Definitely not coming back.
This place admits to only abiding by regulations during the week when the inspector comes. On weekends it’s a whole different story. The dressing to the tacos are unregulated- anyone and everyone is handling and there is no barrier. Not sure if anyone still cares about covid or not but the room is packed with people talking over the cilantro, onion and sauces. They charge extra on top of menu prices or at least did to me. An order that should have been 80-90 dollars came out to over $100. The tacos are skimpy, lackluster in flavor and texture and the burritos and quesadillas are mediocre. I had better at chipotle. For a good taco place I recommend Tacos Y Tortas la Chiquita.
This wasn't great. The meat was really dry and tough to chew. The horchata could use another pass through a filter and the churros were soggy.
This is a great place that is convenient when out and about. They have tasty tacos and good tamales. I haven't sampled their menu more than that but what I have eaten has always been good enough that I keep going back form more. Menu is in picture format pasted all over the wall above the order area. There is a Washington Post review posted on the wall from a few years back that has some suggestions for their best dishes, I think when I go back next time I am going to try the things suggested in that article. There are a few tables inside for eating but no outdoor seating. I get the feeling most people get take out, I always have.
Very good! Had the Quesadillas with beans and rice and I was not disappointed.
