This place has kept me caffeinated for almost two years! I am a two-minute walk and just love what they are serving up. The vibe is laid back, with good staff, tasty pastries, and of course, amazing coffee (cold brew or hot). I order mostly online and my orders are always correct. Located in Del Ray, next to dog parks and baseball fields. Even our guy, Maxwell loves Swings after a busy AM in the dog park (don’t worry, folks no actual coffee was consumed by him).I highly recommend you ‘swing’ by this place whenever you are in the area…you will not be disappointed!
Amazing coffee, as someone who takes their espresso very seriously Swing’s served me one of the best lattes I’ve ever had. The Milk quality was amazing, smooth , light and airy throughout the whole cup. There was a natural sweetness and hints of chocolate and perhaps citrus that was very present in the cup, but not overwhelming. I would highly recommend.
I love Swing's. It feels very of the neighborhood and I feel good giving them my business. It's a fine place to get work done and there's a park next door with outdoor seating to take your coffee and catch up with friends.I love this place and I hope to buy a home nearby someday.
I was excited to visit again after my first visit from last week because i truly enjoyed coffee and pastries.But today, I regretted that i went back.The cashier wasn’t welcoming and she was bit rude. I asked names of the pastries because they did not have name tag for pastries selection and she seemed very annoyed about me asking names of them couple times. You are standing there to accommodate customers. If you don’t want to talk to your customer, why would you stand there?
They Roast their own coffee, very unique. Awesome blends, prepared to go as well. If you are looking for serious roasters - get some ☕
Some of the best cold brew in the DMV and they carry gluten free treats from Rise Bakery! One of my favorite places in town.
I stopped in while waiting for another service. The outer appearance of the shop is appealing, but that is where compliments end.Customer service lacked. I realize these days its a stretch to communicate with someone who enjoys their job, but the two employees manning the store appeared disinterested and desensitized to any interaction, as experienced in my ordering of a small latte. Furthermore, my order sat idle on the table as they completed orders for I'm assuming, regular customers. I received my order hastily with a touch of bitter inconvenience.The lattee, or I should say, warm milk with a splash of espresso, lacked any flavor or taste of their advertised product. At nearly $6 for the drink, I rate it overpriced for a poor product. I do not recommend.
The espresso was good and the speciality drinks looked interesting. It was also quite lively while I was there. Definitely not a place for work, with limited outlets and no wifi, but would be a nice atmosphere for a chat over a cup of coffee.

At first glance Swings is a very cool, local coffee shop with a great location of being close to two dog parks. Because of this reason I’ve been to Swings a lot over the past few months and every time there’s something lacking. Either the lattes are way overpriced for what you get or the drip coffee is too weak or it just takes forever.The final straw for me was this morning.I order online and then head to swings to pick up two lattes. Pick up time was listed as 10 min after my order time. I get there right when it said they would be ready and they were not ready. Which was weird because there were five people working.10 min later, after seeing many people come in, order, and then leave I check out the order times on the coffees at the bar. All of them had been ordered after me.I ask where my order is and they at first aren’t sure and then say “oh it’s next up.”SURE IT WAS.5 min later I get my lattes (25 min after ordered) and there was no apology for obviously forgetting my order and to top it off the lattes were $7 each and just tasted like hot milk.I will not be going back, no matter how convenient it has been.
