I believe this could just be a product of staffing shortages and would like to give them the benefit of the doubt in that regard, however, we waited over 2 hours when we had a reservation for 7:00. We showed up at 7:00 and we weren’t sat till 7:20. It took until 7:45/7:50 for someone to take our drink order and they only did that after we flagged someone down, no one ever actually came to the table. We were compensated with some free appetizers, but we did not get to see our chef until after 9:00. We had come for a birthday dinner with a friend and had an hour drive back so the extended wait put us home after midnight on a Sunday. In addition the wait staff was not attentive and every time we needed refills (which was a lot in 3 hours) we had to flag someone. They also continued to seat people after us, who were also waiting a ridiculous amount of time. In addition one member of our party found a piece of their ice machine in her drink. The bathrooms also had not been attended to as the paper towel dispenser was broken, the door handle was broken and one bathroom was out of order. It was comical how horrible this experience was honestly. Then after that they tried to charge an 18% service fee for a server we saw maybe twice in our 3 hour experience. We tried to still have fun with the chef and make the most of it though bc he was clearly the only one working and just in a hard spot so that isn’t his fault. Overall I would not come here again.
I really don't want to give this place one star but it is necessary. I booked hibachi at 8pm for 2 people. We got there around 740 and the host offered us a seat at the bar while the table was cleaned. No worries. We were way early. Around 830 or 840 we were shown to our seat at the third hibachi table. One was occupied and being served. The other was half full and we were two of four guests at the third. After 5 minutes we were asked to move to the second table because they didn't have enough chefs. We did and sat there until 9pm with no hope of eating, or even seeing the chef, anytime soon. As we got up, the large group who was already sitting there said they had been waiting since 7pm (2 hours). I understand that things do not always go as planned. However, nobody bothered to say that the wait was going to be this extensive. I would have been annoyed if they said a possible 1-2 hour wait to eat. But at least at that time we could have chosen to go somewhere else. By 9pm it was getting too late to make an alternate choice. As my father would say, very disappointed.
Best hibachi place in Alexandria. The staff is always friendly and the sushi is made fresh to order and extremely delicious. I always see my good friend Christine when I go but all the other staff are just as welcoming. I love this place
Very disappointed all the way around. First the place was freezing even the hostess was wearing a coat. The Hostess was moderately friendly that seated us. The Actual waitress was very aloof. Never stop back at our table to check on drinks. Salad was the best part. Soup was blah. Hibachi Chef was nice…but not sure if the waitress messed up or if he did…but forgot both scallops and the lobster. The lobster was cooked in the back and was horrible. They were nice enough to remove it from the bill with a simple request. My biggest annoyance was the smoke from the grill blowing right in our face. I have never experienced that before. It was gross when they were cooking the seafood and even grosser when he was cleaning the grill. Definitely don’t recommend.
The staff here are amazing with children! Kid friendly doesn’t really describe how kind they are every time we come with toddlers. Balloons, extra attention, even the chef gets into treating kids special and giving their parents a moment of grace. There’s enough natural noice in the restaurant to cover any squeals of excitement!Love this place and return again and again for the good food and most excellent service.
This place is great. The food is terrific. The hibachi chef clearly hated his life but honestly that just made the show that much funnier. I can't imagine how hard it would be to feign excitement about the volcano 15 times a day.The sushi to start was terrific.
This is not a fancy schmancy sushi place, but I'd go back. The sushi was, came quickly, and the service was good. My company was excellent, too!
Service is always so friendly when we go. They go above and beyond to make guest happy. Food is always flawless. We will never go to another hibachi spot ever.
Was not pleased. The cook took the tricks to far with the diners. Spraying water and throwing food. SloppyForgot things at the hibachi station. Sushi not good.
Used to come here all the time when I lived here, came back after a few years and it’s just as good! Nothing has changed-phenomenal service, drinks, and food!!!Will be back next time I’m in town for sure!!!
