Stopped by for the first time tonight. They had a 30-40 minute wait, which was reasonable for a Friday night, but we walked around the neighborhood and got a text in 20 minutes. Sat outside as it seemed a little stuffy inside and it was such a beautiful evening. We shared one pizza (the garlic and artichoke, can't remember the name) and the crust was amazing. M had a couple glasses of wine as she didn't like any of the beer selection. They were pricey but I think I'm just 10 years off in my concept of how much things cost. I had a couple of the Richmond Lagers and we enjoyed the evening. Everyone was courteous, we left full, and we look forward to coming back soon.
Some of the best dough for pizza's we have come around in the entire DMV area. Crispy and flavorful. The sauce was not too heavy, and had some great seasoning. Enjoyed the amount of cheese, which was not overwhelming on the margherita. Definitely want to come back and dine here, as they also have a great outside area. Highly recommend coming and getting a pie here!
We had an amazing experience at Stracci! The meatball appetizer should be a requirement for every person who goes there. The Brooklyner filled our meat craving well and Bianca was a classic white/cheese we didn't know we needed. Both pizzas featured the stracciatella cheese which the staff was kind to explain to us and tasted amazing. The Roman style pizza was new to me -- crunchy crust and not oversized pizzas. The flavors were amazing! Will definitely come back.
Stracci is excellent. There are a variety of great pizza restaurants in the general Alexandria area and Stracci is high on the list. The pizza is creative, fresh ingredients great crust and perfectly cooked. We had a party of 5 and took advantage of the tasting menu. They created it for you and it was perfect. The appetizers were all tasty and meatballs are amazing. The olive oil cake at the end was also a hit.Service was smooth and efficient. Overall a great experience that we all loved. Definitely go.
Authentic Roman pizza - it takes 2 days to make the dough! You will not be disappointed!
I am currently buckling my seatbelt leaving Stracci Pizza and I just had to write a review after our meal. Insane. Wonderful. Addicting. My husband and I split the Brussels sprouts and got The Brooklyner and the Johnny ‘Za ‘Za. Listen- this meal was on another level. The crust is crunchy but light, the ingredients are top tier, and the distribution and combination of ingredients are immaculate. I cannot wait go back. I have a feeling this will be a regular spot for me and my husband.
Super tasty pizza. Make sure to order early as people nab these pies up quick!
The D.C. area does good pizza- thin crust, Detroit-style, fancy, D.C. area pizzerias expand what's possible on dough. Stracci Pizza is no exception. If you like good pizza, order from Stracci Pizza in Del Ray, Alexandria. Here's why:1) Pizza: The menu includes six different pizzas, hitting many different preferences. They have white pizza, anchovy pizza, spicy pizza, meat pizza, etc. They something for everyone! You can also customize your pizza.Pizzas are Roman-style so they come out square (12 inches by 9 inches). One pie fills up one hungry person.I ordered eight pizzas on a Friday January evening and we all loved our pizzas. Each was unique and the ingredients were balanced. However, the Brooklyner either had a tiny amount of honey or it was forgotten. Honest mistake and it was easily corrected by adding honey at home.2) Food: They have much more than pizza. We ordered the marinated gigante beans and a load of focaccia. Both hit the spot and I can say that was by far the best focaccia I've ever had. The texture was perfect. They also sell salads, dessert and other items. They even have a wine list curated to go with pizza.3) Space: The pizza is made out of a trailer behind their small building. There are a few picnic tables outside with umbrellas and lights. Since it was a cold evening, most people ordered takeout.4) Experience: Ordering was very easy to do online. I arrived early and our eight pizzas came out five minutes before the time I set since they knew I was waiting. The staff are super friendly and efficient.5) Price: Pies range between $14-$18, but for quality pizza it's worth the price. Also, in an expensive area, the price tag isn't shocking. If you love pizza, Stracci is a must-visit.
Simply amazing! The food is so good and you can tell the high quality of each ingredient with every bite.We had the meatballs which were to die for.We always order the Stracci pizza, they’re staple. Outstanding. The bread and the eggplant app are also great. We’ve been here a few times already and the food and service are five stars. I dare to say this is the best pizza in the DMV area!
Great neighborhood pizza place with authentic Roman-style pizza. Feels fancy enough for a date night but casual enough to bring my young child. Very warm and cozy outdoor heaters. Appetizers, cocktails and dessert were also excellent.
