My go to coffee shop on Sunday. The cafe is so inviting & refreshing. It really gives you some peace & helps you reflect on your day. I love their salmon & cream cheese bagel with some hot coffee
This has been my go to spot for coffee and to get work done during telework for almost a year now. I'm rating it a 3 because I am allergic to pet dander as of late people have been bringing animals into the coffee shop. In my opinion, this is odd. One its not sanitary. There are open containers of beverages and food in the shop and bringing dirty animals into that space is not sanitary. Second, some people like myself, are allergic to pet dander. I am in no position to tell someone that they can't bring their pet in but at the same time I can't risk having a bad allergic reaction, so I choose to leave. It would be if the staff would just have a policy to keep animals.
This is my favorite coffee shop in the area. Food, drinks and vibes are excellent. It serves as a community center of sorts, with small concerts in the summer and art from local artists adorning the walls. The staff and owner are lovely and should you find a seat at the coveted window tables, consider yourself lucky!! Plenty of outlets here as well.
I love this place and love their coffee! I go to read there regularly and enjoy the atmosphere. I wish they didn't charge extra for non-dairy milk to be added to their drip coffees (extra 50 cents for splashes of almond/soy milk).
1000 am MondayAverage coffee. The sidewalk table area was filthy. Tables not wiped down, trash and leaves under the built in bench and tables. Just really run-down.Glad they’rehere… but kinda rough.
St Elmos has an amazing deli.. the sub are fresh and amazing. The employees are quick and always have a smile on their faces when they serve you..
We get coffees (and sometimes breakfast sandwiches) from this location every Sunday. And for the most part our experience is always great. BUT if you are ordering ahead it’s not well organized. There’s nowhere to go to for “online pick up”.Scenario 1 is you go to the regular pick up counter but there’s only ever a person there if they are giving a coffee to someone else so you have to jump in and tell them your name before they run off again.Scenario 2 is you go to the register to tell them you have an online order but there’s always a long line to order so defeats the purpose of ordering on line.I’ve asked them the best way to pick up and they just say to wave anyone down but when it’s busy (weekends) that’s easier said than done.St. Elmo’s should add a location on the side of the regular pick up counter for online pick up.
Coffee shop exploring continues. This time a typical mocha and a cheese danish. While I didn't give it a swirl to mix, the mocha wasn't too sweet to start, but I think they syrup settled as I took a while to drink it. One thing that was particularly nice was how rich the drink was. Cheese danish was also great. Good amount of cheese, and though it was a cold (I think room temp would have been better), the dough was flaky without being a crumbly mess.
St. Elmo's is truly the heart of Del Ray and has been since the mid 90's. The coffee and drinks are fantastic but more importantly, they are a community-minded business that employs some of the finest human beings I've come across. I feel welcome and genuinely cared for whenever I walk into St. Elmo's and the adjoining Market2Market.
Coffee house etiquette isn’t enforced here. No one should be allowed to hog up a big table for themselves for computer work. Understandable when it’s empty or not busy, but when it is there should be a rule enforced. More than just one table during lunch hour taken up by one person. Makes coming here for food and coffee a real hassle and not worth it. Hope they change.
