Exceptionally and consistently good - if you eat in the restaurant.Service is always prompt and professional.Food is excellent - their lunch specials are HUGE. Almost too much.Carryout is sometimes bit cold or slightly mushy. The often say food is ready in 30 minutes and you get there and you can tell the food has been out of the kitchen for at least ten-minutes.My suggestion is, it is better to get there early and wait, then to arrive at the suggested time.
The best Indian food that I have had in days in any restaurant. The food is not sweet, it is spiced up to the liking. The chicken I had was juicy, the Naans were of good taste. The paneer was soft. the only problem that I have with this place is the ambience. It is so small that the tables have to miniatured and all the food one orders cannot fit in with all the plates and all one star less only for that, if i had to rate it just by food it would get full 5 stars.
Oh em gee, this place is a gem! Excellent food, unique modern dishes and incredibly hospitable service. The samosas are huge, stuffed to the brim with a shell that isn't too thick yet still tasty and perfectly crisp. The lunch rice bowl was also heaping. I got tofu with palaak sauce and every component was delicious on its own and combined, even the rice! And I tried the gluten free naan and it was also tasty. I liked it better than some of the yeasty bready naans that I've had from other restaurants. Definitely a great spot
The food is amazing and service is outstanding.
The service was 11/10! The manager/owner was so attentive and asked for our feedback for the Del Ray bar crawl special (avocado chaat). The masala chai was super flavorful and I love how they allow the customer to adjust the sugar level. The avocado chaat was fresh and the tamarind chutney was amazing! The lunch bowl was great value for $11 plus additional few dollars depending on the choice of protein. The lunch rice bowl comes with naan, protein choice, chickpeas, and potatoes.
I had high hopes for Spice Kraft but was a bit disappointed. We were greeted really nicely and upon being sat our server was kind and pleasant; but that's the last we saw of her for 20 minutes. We ordered and 35 minutes later our food arrived. The food was delish, I had the Lamb Biriyani and she had the Butter Chicken. The lamb dish was suitably spicy and you could tell both dishes were made lovingly though once again we ran into an issue. We had been finished for at least 15 minutes before our plates were cleared and it took another 25+ minutes to pay the bill. I have to add, this was not a particularly busy evening. Anyways, I do recommend giving it a shot, maybe it was just an off night.
I love this place! They’re very good if you have food allergies/celiac. Their menu is extremely well done and clearly marks what is GF, Vegan, and vegetarian. I got the chicken Biryani a few days ago and the portions are very generous and taste amazing. 10/10 I’ll be coming back to try more items! Most importantly, I ate the food and didn’t get sick, so if you’re looking for a great gluten free place this is a great spot. Also, the staff is extremely kind and put smiley faces on my takeout containers. Sometimes it’s the little things that go a long way.
Outstanding food
I cannot even tell you how good the food is and specially being vegan. We tried some of the regular dishes like Chettinad Chicken and Kadai Chicken . My son cannot have dairy and tried the Vegan Kofta and even I could not understand how it could be that good? We have to go back and try the other dishes and it makes us really happy that every sauce can be made Vegan. I don't think my son ever thought he could go back to eating Butter Chicken again. We tried the Mango/Ginger chicken and it was excellent as well. Cannot wait to try the other dishes. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Love going here. Best Indian restaurant in Alexandria area.Ordered Garlic nan, Tikka masala with protein and Korma with protein. Tikka masala was not good at all. Usually their tikka masala was very tasty. Korma was good as usual. I don’t know what had happened with their tikka recipe.I personally like their lunch specials better than their dinner menus.Parking on the street.
