Living in Northern VA one year now less than a mile from silver diner and we have never gone there. We kept saying we going to bit never. Beautiful ambience, spacious and clean. Scrumptious food, great choices for everyone. I can't stop talking about the food finger licking good. Great location lots of parking. A nice Gem in our neighborhood oh great cocktails not too water down and weak only issue I might have too much ice.
Had a great service experience here yesterday. I requested outdoor seating at lunchtime on a slow Monday when they didn't have many diners. The server seated us outside and served us despite the fact that outside patio was supposed to be closed (likely due to staffing, low traffic, and cool temperatures). Of course, this prompted other diners to request outside, which he also accommodated. Service was efficient and quick and the food was good.
I have been a regular customer for a long time. Things have changed. I do appreciate the options and choices, but the prices have gone up and they are no longer "Diner" . Brunch costs as much as dinner? Also this is something that I don't blame the staff. I just don't think a rack of pancakes are worth $15 no matter how they are made or what you put in it. Service is good during breakfast and lunch but for dinner I have always had issues. I think 3 stars is fair. I don't go there as much as before just because of the prices.

Service was good food is just ok.
First time at this location. Food was ok needs seasoning. Staff needs to pay more attention to customers kept having to look for waitress for refills on drinks or issues we had with order. Could have been a lot better. Place was clean. If food had more seasoning i would gave 4 stars..and staff not taking care of customers takes off 1 star also keeping it from being 5 stars. Recommended Only if you like food without seasoning.
Went to silver diner today to eat some delicious brunch and was greeted by the most warm welcoming host named Fernanda, even while taking us to our table she made me and my husband feel very welcomed. Our server was very attentive and kind while the food was great but lacked just a little but of seasoning. All in all our experience was great and would definitely recommend coming here.
Our experience at Silver Diner was fantastic, our waiter Leo was absolutely amazing. The food, service and atmosphere was to my liking. I’ll be sure to visit more often to enjoy great customer service and food.
I'll be honest. I wasn't having a good day and was already contemplating a 3 or less star review by the time I got seated. My receipt says Javier F was my server, and he was excellent. I ordered a beer and he came back with it promptly. After going over the menu, I chose the Saturday / Sunday Shrimp and Grits special. I couldn't stop eating; it was amazing. I had one more beer before leaving. I'm not in the Alexandria area that much, but will keep this place in mind next time I'm nearby.
Here visiting and craving Eggs Benedict. Husband found this gem of a restaurant.Plenty of free parking in the underground parking garage. That was a first for us. Free parking!Indoor dining for us as it was quite chilly. Was seated immediately and drinks brought.The eggs Benedict was 100% everything I wanted. Egg poached perfectly, hollandaise sauce flavorful.Definitely a great asset to the community!
