Every dish I've had at Shooter's has been very good quality. Reuben sandwich and southwest bowl are delicious.It's clean and has a dog friendly patio. Management and staff are excellent and the bar is popular.
Great food
Went to Shooter McGee's for husband's 60th St. Patrick's Day lunch to get his corned beef-ncabbage. Staff was nice enough. He ate there last year, said it was great. Well, not this time. They cooked the corned beef separate from the cabbage. The cabbage was cooked and presented like a wedge salad. It blanched, tough, rubbery and flavorless. Waitress got brought out another plate of cabbage, it was still super tough. The corned beef looked more like slice of lunch meat. He brought the food home and I seasoned and recooked it. No knife needed once I cooked it, My Irish Stew tasted like they poured a can of Dinty Moore beef stew into a bread bowl, a 1/2 a can at that. Literally less than a cup of stew in a bread bowl. Way more bread than stew. Totally not impressed. Maybe we came before the real cooks shift started.
The food is always excellent here. Much traditional American fare to choose from and everything is always tasty and perfectly prepared. Lots of drink options and a weekend Bloody Mary Bar for making your own just the way you like it. Comfort food at its best!
I've gone to Shooter McGee's many times, usually with coworkers. The service is always great. The food is good. I haven't had a bad meal there, but I have a few favorites - the jalapeno popper dip, wings and Cobb salad are my three go-to items. Love that they brew iced tea. Huge alcohol selection. Cute patio. This is one of those replaces that's easy to overlook, but absolutely worth the visit!
I love the hamburgers here! One of my favorite hamburgers to get anywhere (not just in the area). I also love their sweet potato fries and the unique cinnamon/sugar they put on the fries. So delicious. There are several other items I want to try on the menu, but the hamburger is so good I can never bring myself to do it!My one complaint is the price. We ordered two hamburgers for takeout (each with a $3 upcharge for a side) and paid $37. I really miss the half price hamburger Mondays! Nevertheless, I understand this is a local restaurant and it is difficult to be a restaurant right now. I will continue to go here, but just not as often as if the hamburger prices were more reasonable.
Friendly staff and decent food. Good neighborhood bar. Plus since it is not in Fascist DC. No crazy mask rules!!

I love it here!! My favorite to order are the Blackened Chicken Pasta, steak and cheese rolls, and the Reuben. Their drinks are also pretty good. The servers are always respectful and welcoming and overall, I really enjoyed my experience with Shooter Mcgee.
Meets expectations for a good value, tasty meal. We haven't been in a while, but the renovation feels new. Opens up the room a little and definitely makes the restaurant feel more welcoming and comfortable. Will definitely be back.
