Brunch at Murphy's is always very good. The staff are excellent and really take care of you.

Unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment! When we arrived, we were given a brunch menu. Nothing on Open Table or on the pub's website showed it to be brunch only. When I decided to order the steak and eggs from the brunch menu, I was told they did not have any more steak. So, both my wife and I settled for the hamburger platter. When the hamburgers came out, they were very poorly executed. There was no seasoning on the burger whatsoever. It tasted like a piece of charred briquette. My wife couldn't even eat hers. When the manager stopped by our table and asked how our meal was, I told her how disappointed I was. The manager did take the meals off of the bill. However, that doesn't change the fact the food was awful. I have eaten here in the past and the food was good, but I was not so lucky this time! I guess my only positive would be the customer service the waitress and the manager provided.
We stopped in both nights during our stay for drinks and live entertainment. Maddie the bartender was great. Always there before we we finished our drinks even with the bar full both nights. Never seemed rushed and took the time to answer all the questions we had about the bar. Easily struck up conversations with people who had definitely been there before. Great vibe, friendly.
I never pass up an Irish Pub, and this one didn't disappoint! Great location, just down King Street. This one has been there for a while and has been visited by many police officers from across the country. It's a museum of sorts as well as a great pub. I had the Sheppards Pie and draft. It was great that I went back two days later for lunch. I Had Cornbeef and Cabbage and two more drafts. Still just as good. I hope to go back again next year.
They provided excellent service. I had a special request for the way my food was served and they were so nice about it and brought my food just as I requested. I will go there every time we are in Alexandria!!!! The food is amazing and so are the servers. One of the servers - who was not our server - even came by our table to see if my food was brought out to my satisfaction.
