So flipping cute! It was my first time going to a cat cafe. I didn’t know what to expect going in but the dos and don’ts were explained upon arrival. After that it’s pretty straight forward. You go up stairs and through a door to a room full cats ( available for adoption ) and you can use the play items littered across the room to tempt the sweeties into play. The cats come and go as they please and you do have other people there so keep in mind sometimes you won’t have a cat to play with or pet. You’ll just have to be patient!! Downstairs there is a place to order drinks but if you bring any beverages back up to the cat room be mindful that it can be knocked over or the cats might try to drink from it.

After a morning of site seeing in DC, spending an hour sipping a cider with a room of cats sounded ideal. The employees are friendly and welcoming. What a great idea to raise funds for the care of the cats awaiting adoption. The cats are shy so don't expect them to snuggle with you. It was clean but still smelled strongly from the litter boxes. That is hard to overcome. I would have enjoyed it more without the hyper children. Luckily, the café does offer an adults only evening.

LOVED this cat cafe!!! Came to see Thomas O’Malley and left feeling so happy I did! He was so sweet and his muffin making skills are TOP NOTCH!!! Didn’t get a chance to go to the cafe part but definitely will next time! The cat lounge upstairs is the perfect cat hang out. I love that the two areas are separate so you can truly enjoy your time with the cats! We went around nap time it seems but all the cats still enjoyed pets (: Definitely recommend coming here and will be coming back! ❤️❤️❤️

I’ve been to a few cat cafes but I really like this one. I love that they have senior cats as opposed to only kittens. It makes me happy to be able to hang out with them. My only suggestion would be to get there before your appointment time to find parking and walk there.

We had an awesome visit for my sisters birthday. Beautiful both upstairs and downstairs. I loved seeing the senior cats getting the care and love they deserve. The staff was compassionate and the cafe had a great variety.

Great experience. Thank you!

This place is great, super cute and treats the cats and customers great! They take in disabled cats that would be killed in normal shelters, and without them I wouldn’t have found my sweet Alex cat!

Good location, easy to park! Amazing staff! Cutest kitties, it was so much fun to spend time with them.

WOW! I can’t believe it has taken so long for us to check this place out. We are cat lovers. Unfortunately, we already have two cats so we are unable to adopt from this amazing organization. However, we loved supporting them by buying some drinks and heading upstairs to play with the cats. The staff at Mount Purrnon are very kind, knowledgeable and you can tell that they love the cats. This place has many places for visitors and cats to sit and tons of toys. The cats were so lovable and friendly. If you’re looking to adopt, PLEASE consider Mount Purrnon- they do great things here. We will definitely be back for our regular cat therapy.

I highly recommend going to Mount Purrnon. It quickly has become one of my favorite places to visit. The staff and owners are all very friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell they care about the cats. I have been multiple times for their wine tasting event, Jeopurrdy, and other times to just hang out with the kitties! Great drink selection and the grilled cheeses are delicious (I recommend the Tabby Cat). They also have fun merchandise - my mom loved her cat slippers from Mt. Purr. The cats are so adorable and loving, as you can see in my pictures. Go out and support this business!
