The Falafel sandwiches and the pastries are incredibly delicious. Like a best kept secret on the west end, if I wasn't living so close to it I might never stopped in to try it. I've had their Turkish coffee as well, but I'm not sure what good coffee taste like so I'm not gonna front. I did feel like a ten year old sipping a tea cup but I'm thinking that's part of the Experience. I dunno, lemme go run this by no one and get back to you. Food A++ though.
I ordered the Chicken Gyro and Falafel Platter. It was okay.
Lots of choices in the grocery. They seem to be constantly busy. The take away kebab was ok’ish. The baklava was actually pretty good (which is what I initially wanted).I’ll try other food options next time.
The pastries are delicious! We tried the tomato and labne, spanokopita, and beef and labne options as well as some baklava. The pastries are served cold, but there were warm sandwich/pizza options that also looked delicious if you wanted a warm meal. While we were eating, they magically gave us free hummus and pita on the house! The hummus is very tahini-forward, which I love (we ended up buying a hub to take home as well).
Great Middle Eastern food and bakery.
This place is a classic and a much loved and apprecitated foodie mecca. It has every Middle Eastern delicacy, dessert and spice you could want. Authentic fresh pita. The sandwiches are delicious.
This is the only place I know of where I can get authentic Greek cheeses like Kefalotyri and other Greek ingredients. Most other Mediterranean shops will have Turkish and Persian products. If you are in need of authentic Greek products, this is the place to come to. Also, there is a kitchen counter for to go foods. The menu looks pretty good. I will have to give it a try another time. The selection of imports from the Mediterranean is great, and the staff is very friendly.
Wonderful place. The tabouli is the best I've had. The stuffed cabbage is delicious. The Syrian bread is authentic. The staff is friendly and helpful. I've been coming here for 30 years and the food is always reliably great!
I called 3 days ahead of time requesting one of the listed “specialty” cakes and was told they were not available. Only the 4 cakes that they have in stock everyday could be ordered. I settled for the black forest cake. It was a disappointment. The cake was a bit dry and had very little cherry fruit filling. Since it was for my husband’s birthday, it was embarrassing.
This place significantly improved since I visited it first awhile ago. They offer great freshly made Mediterranean dishes, hundreds of items from all over the world you can't find at your grocery store. Always nice and clean and greatly organized. Oh, and don't forget freshly baked baklavas, cookies and delicious pastry of all sorts.
