This has been our go to place for years. This afternoon was a bit disappointing but, I believe that is due to my forgetting that the General Tso's hadn't ever been that spicy at this location. Not a bad thing, however, the spicy is what I personally crave.I will say, this was our first time ordering online. The owner called me because my address was a 20 min drive away and she wanted to make sure I didn't place an order at the wrong place. I appreciated the care she put into her customers to actually ask that question. That alone would give this place 5 stars every timeThis afternoon we tried a number of new dishes in preparation for this review:Lobster lo mein: strong seafood scent and flavor. Wasn't terrible, but would fill a seafood craving: 7/10Spicy Tangy Dumplings Szechuan Style: just dumplings hanging out in chili oil. Never spicy enough, flavor was good though: 8/10Pork with Garlic Sauce: garlic...bout it. 6/10Pork Peking Style: the main reason I took pictures, Google made it seem like the crispy skin was a factor. This is absolutely not the case. Flavor was fine, my own expectations got in the way so I'll give it 6/10
Great for takeout or delivery. My go-to for Chinese when I visit NoVA.
Clean lobby, food is quick to be cooked, fair prices, and if you need chopsticks or extra sauce packets they will oblige.
Excellent food, generous portions, pleasant employees. Clean. The menu has a huge variety of choices. I highly recommend!
Loved the service. Also liked that the French fries was in the same Asian style bowl like the rice and other foods, in my area it is usually In a clear plastic container.
They make Chinese food like you get in the City. Ordering is always easy with them, and they have yet to mess my order up. I LOVE their flexibility when it comes to delivery and in store payments.
Not friendly place the food is good
Always a happy place. Great selection of delicious meal choices as well as quick service and cheerful reception by the staff. On a tough day there is home delivery with the best leftovers for lunch the next day. Definitely a HAPPY PLACE
Growing up in Hollin Hall, Hunan Manor was always a family favorite. They were always so nice, fast, always appeased my childhood requests for extra baby carrots (and later in life extra mushrooms) in my chicken with mixed vegetables — not to mention the food was really good! I didn’t realize how good we had it in Hollin Hall until I moved to NE DC a couple years ago and I’m still in search of a take out Chinese place that compares. So needless to say, I’ve always loved Hunan Manor, but my experience tonight takes the cake and makes me love them more. Tonight my parents and I ordered around 7pm, after an hour or so of waiting for their normally fast service we decided to give a call to get an update. The lady answered the phone and said the driver was on his way. Knowing that many are calling for support of AAPI run businesses this weekend and that Hunan Manor was maybe busy because of that and normal Saturday night craziness, we waited. About 30 minutes later we called again. Turns out, they delivered our food to the wrong address. About 5 minutes after the mishap was discovered, I saw a car pull up outside of the house, I figured out food was here. Nope, turns out that nice lady who normally runs the front counter came and started KNOCKING ON MY NEIGHBOR’S DOOR. Talk about going above and beyond. Shortly after this happened a delivery man arrived with some piping hot food and was super apologetic. The neighbor never answered the door, but the fact that they came to question the neighbor about the food had us all laughing and made me love Hunan Manor even more. Thanks for being a staple for the neighborhood Hunan Manor team and please open a second location in NE DC!
Great food and friendly customer service
