Extensive beer list and great food! Definitely would stop by again.
Hops N Shine is the diamond in the rough in this section of Alexandria. The exterior looks a little rough and ready, but the outdoor beer garden is where this place really shines. They brew quite a bit of beer on premise and have a decent section of both beer and whiskey for you to sample as well. They specialize in gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches as their faire, usually with a side of well fried tatter-tots as their sides. If you need a place to go for a late lunch or dinner with a friendly and casual outdoor space, this is place to be.
Wide selection of drinks, and some fun coctails. The grilled cheese selection was awesome and they tasted so good! A great place to relax and catch up with friends!Side note: Just be careful if your on the back patio, sometimes the dry cleaners next-door let big chuncks of lent fly rather often, so watch your drinks!
We gathered here for a 30th reunion and it was just perfect. We were grateful that we didn't have to make a deposit to hold our spit unlike the majority of bars in Alexandria. The staff was super friendly, as if they were celebrating with us. We appreciate your hospitality! You really do shine!
Food is absolutely delicious every time. Fresh, crispy and very creative. Love this place!
We went here for the first time to have a casual dinner. It was great! They stuck to their niche in terms of food and did it well. As others said, the location is a bit odd but don’t let that deter you. It looks like they had a patio in the back which I’m sure is fun in warmer weather. Staff was friendly, attentive, and got the orders out in a timely manner.
Awesome food. Grill cheese are killer, and they feature the best tots I've ever had. Great beer selection so that's a thing. Didn't try the moonshine yet. Patio out back is big and I bet this place is a blast in the warm weather. Will come back.
Stopped in just before closing on Christmas Eve. Though we were hoping to sample their food the kitchen was understandably closed. Beer was great, service was great. Not a spot for atmosphere, but a fun place to stop in at.
One of my absolute favorite spots in Northern Virginia. Amazing wings (I would eat the Old Bay wings DAILY), apps, and specialty grilled cheeses. This is one of my favorite places to bring visiting friends or get take-out or hang out in the outdoor area with my pup. Highly recommend.This is the spread I came home to one night after a long, tough day at work.
