The atmosphere here was very nice. The service was great, the staff was excellent. I would recommend Finn & Porters to anyone. Keep up the good work guys.

Could of used some hot sauce, but overall fantastic

They offer a nice range of fresh food. I liked eating here. Staff members are always very friendly, rates are reasonable and the spot is always kept clean.

Stayed at the Hilton Alexandria Mark center for a few days and enjoyed two dinners and a lunch here. Surf and turf, crabcakes, sea bass and perfectly cooked scallops. Each dish with lovely presentation and skillfully prepared with a unique blend of flavors. Service with Tiggy at dinner was great. Lunch was quite busy due to a large conference crowd, but the staff handled the rush well. I would perhaps add more creativity to the lunch menu and add some dark beers options to the drinks menu. Overall we were very pleased. Our compliments to the chef.

I was staying in the Hilton hotel this was attached to and thought I'd give this restaurant a try. Wrong decision. I bought the 8 oz. filet mignon ($34) and a side of baked Mac and cheese ($6). Overall these are pretty expensive items, so I expected good things. The "filet mignon" I was served looked like a flattened dog tongue that was cooked so thoroughly (I ordered it medium-well) that it was tough and flavorless. One of the worst steaks I've ever eaten for the price point. I have a soft spot for Mac and cheese. How hard is it to mess up that classic? Well, on my second forkfull of it, I almost ate a long strand of saran wrap, not only proving that they didn't check it before it was served, but also proving that their cooking methods probably aren't up to par. The server apologized but overall nothing else was said. Even the Moscow mule I got was terrible. Overall a terrible experience. Never eat at the hotel restaurant, people.

There isn't much within walking distance of the Hilton Alexandria Marks Center, and I needed to stick close, so I ended up at Finn and Porter by default. Overall, it isn't a bad place; it definitely has a very classy atmosphere, and a pretty good menu. My buffalo burger was very good and tasty, and was delivered quickly. There was also a good beer selection at hand. On the minus side, the dinner was extremely expensive, even for a hotel restaurant (that whole captive audience, I thought)...and, while my server was great throughout the meal, she disappeared after the meal, and I had to go to another staff member to get and pay for my check (I don't understand why that happens a lot - staff disappears when I'm trying to give them my money!). So, overall, it's a decent place for dinner....just be prepared for the prices, and you may or may not have to hunt the server down.

Great food and nice location

Our waiter was too busy watching hockey to come back to ask how things were. He never refilled water, not once. He had an attitude about a return of onion soup was so salty, then asked for ceasar salad also so salty had anchovies paste he didnt tell us even knowing the soup was salty. Terrible server no personality and was very aggreavated that we wanted another dish.

Enjoyed eating at Finn and Porter’s but Wish they validated parking. They charged $15 parking for less than 2 hours. Yikes!
