Placed a to go order of Chicken Tacos and Chicken Wings mild. Staff said fries came with the wings…no fries with wings in the container. Small container of rice and beans with tacos. Very average tacos at best. Nothing special and very over priced for the amount of food. $30 for the two items. Chicken wings were large, but very bland. Waited about 20 minutes for food.
I went into the store for five days ago and I actually met the owner. She seemed like a very nice person. I picked up my meal, a full chicken with a side of french fries and tortillas with 8 yellow sauces and went home. I get home I open the box I’m eating with my family only to realize that the chicken is extremely dry and overcooked. So dry and overcooked that I actually ended up throwing away most of it. I was so confident, based off my meeting with the owner, that this issue would be resolved no problem. To my surprise, and disappointment, this was far from the case. I called perhaps two or three days ago to explain the situation, left my name and my number for the manager to reach out to me. They never reached out. I called back again today the young lady on the phone put me on hold talk to the manager and mentioned to me all they can do is give me 25% off my next purchase. This isn’t the first time I’ve had a bad experience with the food with you all , I would always give you all the benefit of the doubt. It’s unfortunate that you weren’t able to do the same for a long time paying customer. The interesting thing was I asked the young lady if I can speak to the manager directly, so she put me on hold and spoke to the manager again , and the young lady says that the manager said all we can do is give you 25% off. Horrible customer service. The least the manager could have done is speak to me directly. If you went to a restaurant and had food which was overcooked and all the person tells you that yeah I can give you 25% off for the next order are you gonna be satisfied with that? You just lost a long time paying of over 5 years, all over 28.61, as well as everyone I know who eats at your establishment. I understand food quality issues, it happens, but bad customer service? There is never an excuse for that! Please give me a full refund. Horrible customer service. I expected more from Coco Rico, unfortunately, Coco Rico showed it’s true colors, over 28.61.
Not a great Peruvian chicken place. The sauces are nice and the sides are fine (though the vegetables are massively over cooked), but the main thing you come to Peruvian chicken for- chicken- is terrible. It’s very dry, and when I got my order they mixed up breast and thigh meat (I wanted the thigh), but even that was dry. I’ve been here twice so it wasn’t a one-off. I’ve also had bigger portions elsewhere.
about a 20 min wait at 1pm on a Friday.\\n\\nstaff is hit or miss. The place is quite large with ample seating.\\n\\nthe empanadas are mostly bread and lacked flavor but one order gives you two. I couldn't eat more than a bite of one.\\n\\nthe chicken esp the white part was extremely dry and this was an eat in order . the yucca are cut so thick (won't even fit into the tiny plastic sauce to dip) and over fried it was quite hard. The plantains were pretty good and rice was just ok with white rice mixed with what I assume was a bag of frozen veg.\\n\\nif the food was only half as good as it smelled outside I would come back ..
Best chicken ever. So tender and juicy. Everyone that works there is super nice. I usually call and make an order and then I pick it up 15 minutes later. Their portions are generous. Their prices are great. Their Yucca and plantains are incredible! This is one of our top family favorites. Their new location is lively and exciting. My favorite order is half chicken dark meat with plantains and Yucca. 10/10 highly recommended!
We went to the original location and they had shut down. I typed in Peruvian Chicken near me and found they had moved up to Commerce Street. The new place is much larger then the original. I ordered a 1/4 dark with Yucca and black beans. The serving size seemed a bit smaller then it used to be but that sadly is a sign of the times now. Just glad they weathered the storm and are still in business. The chicken was very good, lots of meat, decent spices. The Yucca was done great, nice golden brown. The beans could have used some help, pretty bland. Another thing I noticed is they are stingy with the sauce, you only get two small ones and have to ask for more, shame. Anyways the meal was good, the cost is reasonable and I would certainly come again.
Always delicious chicken! We normally order their rotisserie/Peruvian and pollo saltado and it never disappoints! During winter they also serve chicken soup which is so satisfying!\\n\\nThey're in process of opening their new place off of Commerce street in Springfield, and temporarily at George Washington drive in Alexandria (close to Marlo's furniture)... come support this establishment!
The chicken was absolutely delicious with amazing potatoes done the latino way. Lodi, who hosted us in the restaurant was the most wonderful, she was so kind and caring and made me feel at home. Must-try this great chicken with mom-cooked taste!
The chicken is fall off the bone tender. There's lots of flavor from the smoke, and the spices add the perfect taste combination with the spices. If you want to kick it up with flavor, you can dip your food in the garlic sauce or their green spice sauce.
I love this place! Amazing Peruvian chicken and Lebanese sides (hummus, garlic paste are amazing) big fan of the Lebanese chicken sandwich too! Thought they closed as I drove by their location but thankfully I called and they have me directions to their new location. Amazing staff and lovely family owned business. Would highly recommend for eat it or take away.
