Just to institutionalize it was great back in the day and I know they have their regulars but I prefer a local small restaurant
I ate there with a friend to celebrate my birthday. I was disappointed because they no longer have the salad bar:-( The restaurant was very empty and there were only people seated at tables near the windows. Nice outdoor scenery. Would reccomend the desserts.
My wife and I always have enjoyed CHR in Alexandria in the past. However, since Covid 19 the quality of food has been diminished quite a bit. on our last visit, my wife had Steak & Pesto Pasta. She practically had one bite. I had grilled Sword Fish. The side vegetable tasted awful.
The restaurant looks tired and not really clean. The front doors were so sticky and smeared with fingerprints and food that I really didn't want to touch in the 'after COVID world'. The buffet is probably appropriately closed but there must be something that could be put there so that you aren't greeted by this huge table that is just empty and collecting dust or whatever the wait staff throws there as a catch all. Upstairs was closed as they can't get servers. Food was good not outstanding but still expensive. Wait staff was pleasant but not particularly attentive. Not the experience I have had in the past. This is best view of the Potomac in Old Town. Please bring back the Chart House of years past.
Paid a lot for the season swordfish. Over cooked and tough. Did I mention they brought the mains before the appetizers. On top of that, they piece-mealed the entrees. Pass on this place forever. Server apologized but did not offer to fix anything. Also, the mojitos were packed with so much sugar it felt like drinking a childrens drink.
beautiful atmosphere, fine dining and great prices
Service was great! No complaints. We usually get a better view, but we still enjoyed it!
We had a wonderful experience at the Charthouse for our 18th anniversary on July 3, 2022. We had our rehearsal dinner here 18 years ago and have had the pleasure of several other dinners, but it has been many years since we have been (2010), and we wanted to share our experience with our kids. The staff at the Charthouse went above my expectations. We had the perfect seat with a view, an anniversary card signed by the team, an anniversary menu, and a special dessert. While these things may be expected by some, this wasnât something weâve experienced and it made our day that much more special. Thank you!
All good as usual, but this was the first time in all my visits to Chart House, that the waitress made a lengthy pitch for some of us to join Landry program. Didn't appreciate it.
I've heard great things about Chart House and wanted to celebrate my birthday there. The menu has a variety of appealing options. I was greeted with a birthday card signed by staff and then shortly after ordering we experienced a few mishaps. However, the manager, Sandy, was apologetic and attentive to fixing the issues. We still enjoyed the meals and was appreciative of the customer service. I would go back.
