We spent time in Alexandria last night exploring the area. At around 9 pm we were looking for a place to eat. We settled on Bugsy’s and were able to be seated right away. The street was loud with a lot of activity but it was quiet and comfortable inside. We had a group of seven. The service was great and the food was good too. We ordered pizza, a calzone, spaghetti, a sandwich and salads. It’s a nice casual environment and family friendly.
Had a deep dish meat lovers pizza with a Stella draft. Great combination and a great location. Definitely a must do.
Fettuccine Alfredo was good no garlic bread just toasted white bread Pizza wasn’t done big salad staff nor real nice my waiter was nice
I should've listened to my gut instinct about this place and not ordered from here, but unfortunately, I did. And here we are. Now, the question I should've asked myself before ordering, is "How bad can a pizza place, with the word pizza in its name, screw up a pizza?" And after getting one delivered to me today, I know the answer to that: "Ask Bugsy's, only they know how to achieve that magnanimous feat". Honestly, both our entrees today were very disappointing. We ordered via GrubHub, and it's only a 25 minutes drive from Alexandria to our place, so I have no idea why the pizza was chewy and the cheese was rubbery when the pizza was delivered to us. It shouldn't have happened, but somehow that's what we got. Plus, the cheese on the quattro formaggi had a funky taste and texture to it, almost like you might expect from cheese from a can, and there was very little mozzarella on it! It's crazy that we might've had a better experience picking up a frozen pizza from a grocery store and heating it up at home, that's how disappointing this pizza was.Coming to the second entree: the good part was that they followed my instructions to replace spaghetti with penne, but that's about it. The marinara was very watered down and tart, with no hint of spice to it. And there was only one chicken cutlet, as compared to all the other local restaurants that give 2 chicken cutlets, so the value for money here isn't as good as other restaurants either.
Good ambient a date night good place to visit food was good I recommend it
My favorite pizza. But it was short staffed my server forgot me
Nice place with good pricing. Great for families with kids.
We got The Bay thin-crust pizza, the medium was plenty for two people. The crust was delicious, toppings were a bit lacking in seasoning though. Pretty good overall!
Loved the pizza. A bit on the spicy side but I’m ok with that and it was very flavorful with some great tasting sausage and herbs.
Our next dinner stop while in the DC area was Bugsy’s in Alexandria. Here’s how it went:Pros:I gotta say, they have some great pizza! The crust is insanely thick and the slices are quite large as well as a lot of flavor added to it. The vibe of the restaurant is also nice and vintage looking and the staff were friendly too.Cons:No notable cons!Overall, definitely a 5 out of 5 experience!
