Was staying at the Hilton next door and stopped in for breakfast. The diner was nit here the last time I stayed in Old Town. They did a great job renovating the place. Has a great "diner" feel. Took awhile for me to get served. I was by myself and some couples came in right after me and got served first. It's seat yourself diner so they probably missed me coming it. However, I was pleased with my breakfast. Had eggs over easy, bacon, grits and toast. It came out hot and everything was cooked just the way I like it. Great way to start my day. I will never eat breakfast at the Hilton again!!
This place was a pleasant surprise. It is walking distance from the Hilton and Wyndham. They give very generous portions for a reasonable price. I had the western omelet and it was delicious. Even though they were crowded, service was fast and courteous.
Their patty melt is sooo freaking delicious! It's buttery and cheesy and I crave it like a thirty women in a dessert. With a side of extra crispy fries..?It's always entertaining at night too bc it's such a mixed crowd. I literally enjoy the food and enjoy the drama around me. Last time their was a couple arguing over his money and her gold digging ways. Pure gold.
My wife and I came here on July 4th (technically July 5th) after all the Independence Day events. We were hungry and near midnight and assumed everything was closed. This place popped up on our search and we decided to check it out. Not only was it open but the food was delicious. The service was a little delayed but they were short staffed and the place was busy. Once the food came out everything was great. Side note, this location is in downtown Alexandria which is beautiful at night! Definitely come check this place out.
We went today for the first time and I had the best chocolate chip pancakes ever! Will be back soon!
Five stars for being available. Inexpensive, clean, bright atmosphere and friendly service 24 hours a day! The food is served hot off the grill and passes muster as a good all-nite diner should. Give them their props...and don't forget tip your waiter a buck or two extra. These are hard times.
We decided to give it an opportunity even though we try to eat in places with better reviews, and it was the right decision. Great place for breakfast in Old Town Alexandria. The food and service were excellent!
I went here for breakfast, around 10:30 on a weekday. There was no wait, I could sit immediately. They let me choose seating, so I say in a booth (could fit 4 people comfortably). There were tables and chairs and there was a small amount of bar-type seating, but I don't know if those were available. The menu is classic diner food, so it's great if you want straight-forward menu options.I got coffee and the country fried steak (with scrambled eggs, hash browns, and wheat toast). The food was prepared quickly. Offers to refill coffee were frequent, and creamer was available. As far as food, the country fried streak was great, the hash browns were crispy, and the eggs were good. The servers were very friendly. The restaurant was clean. Despite the warm and muggy weather outside, the restaurant was a comfortable temperature. Definitely a great experience.
Truly American diner with bottomless coffee. For a foreigner it was enjoyable. Good food too.
Have been a fan of Bob & Edith’s for years. This is a relatively new store.Would give it zero stars if I could.I live nearby, was excited when they opened. I get b-fast out often. However, since they opened, I used their mobile app 5 times - and 5 times either got the wrong order or they didn’t make the order at all.I tried to get my money back for their most recent screw-up today, but the manager couldn’t figure out how to repay me…just wanted to make the order right.Straight forward order…bought a couple meals and a cheese omelette to-go. The omelette came with ham though…discovered after my vegetarian wife tried to eat it at home. So I drove back to the store and asked for a refund, not a replacement. My wife was long-gone at work by this point, having eaten something else and moved on…so I didn’t want wait around for them to cook an omelette that wouldn’t be eaten. That blew his mind. Could not figure out how. He was going to pay me out of his own pocket. Poor guy.In store service has been bumpy, too - somewhat expected in a new place…but not like this.Bottom line: Don’t use their on-line app, & don’t go to this B & E until they can figure out what they are doing.I would go to the store a couple miles south if you’re dying for B & E…but that will no longer be me. I tried to give them another chance…several times…but they lost a customer thru their very poor customer service and ineptitude.
