I’ve driven right past this place for years without batting an eye, can’t believe I never tried it sooner!! We came for breakfast, it was quite busy (it’s a breakfast restaurant after all) but the service was still quick and amazing. The food we tried was impeccable, especially the grits! Something about this busy little diner was so homey, like the ones we always went to as kids. Definitely coming back soon!
My daughter and I ate breakfast for first time at Barnside Diner the other day. I was very impressed by service and food prep. The portions were not only sizable, but our omelettes (Feta and Garden) were very tasty and fresh. Omelettes we’re not folded over but laid on top fillings. This kept them fresh and tasty! 5 stars! I never leave reviews, but has to share. The manager, Helen, was very nice and accommodating.
I love this place! It is a go-to for our family. Take it for what it is, a greasy spoon. Short order place. It’s not the Ritz. Food is great, service is fantastic and we like the atmosphere. It’s a diner that has a lot of things happening. Sit at the counter to really take things in. If you are looking for a relaxing, romantic place, this isn’t it. If you want good quality food at a fair price, you found your place.
A decent alternative after being tired of IHOP and Silver Diner. The pancakes, both plain and chocolate chip, were pretty good. The bacon was superior to that of the former mentioned chains and really stood out in my Bacon Egg and Cheese bagel. Coffee was decent but the Sweet Tea was definitely a miss. The service was the best part. We were seated immediately, the food came out quickly and the servers were very attentive. I'll definitely be back
The people are nice. However, my review is about the food. I ordered chicken and waffles. The waffles were horrible and the chicken batter was the worse. The worse chicken and waffles I have ever had in my entire life. I should of went to Uncle C's. They also had food piled up in the deep fryer baskets. I guess waiting to be recooked. I should have left when I saw that. I won't be going back to this location. College park is the best!
We absolutely love the Barnside Diner. The food is consistently delicious, great breakfasts and hash browns. The service is always super nice. We never had a server who wasn't absolutely lovely. After 2-3 visits, they actually remember your "usual", which is just amazing to me. For a traditional diner breakfast, this is one of the 2 best diners in the Alexandria area.
You can tell this is a local favorite. My wife and I decided to try it for breakfast yesterday and could immediately tell there were a lot of regulars. The menu was wide. The food was good. The diner was clean. Happy And the service was excellent. My wife went plain with eggs and hash browns while I went with chicken and waffles. It’s a place worth going back to.
This is my all-time favorite diner. Incredible staff, delicious food and affordable prices make this one of my weekly go-tos. Cannot recommend enough! Love this place so much!
Best burger I've had in many years. Service was quick. The staff were very polite. They were very busy, but still managed to get our order right away and we were served promptly. Will definitely eat there again.
I love this diner, great food but what I love the most is the way the manager treat the employes, with the upmost respect, I was amazed, she created a lovely atmosphere to spend time with my Friends and family.
