I ordered online. The timing was perfect and they got the order right.One of the best places to get a steak n cheese. Their pizza is delicious and they cut it like a triangle, not squares (if that makes any difference).Friendly service. Small area for indoor dining.
As a former Philadelphian, I've been known to picky about my cheese-steak. My apologies to Philadelphia. Al's are better.
If Bo is not on grill I'm sure the flavor is gone...less meat..more money? Can't cut back with cheap steak. Al's will never be the same after John, Bo's father passed. I will miss Al's forever ? ?

For a quality Cheesesteak in the NOVA area, this is the place. Good portions, great quality. Fries were a little on the soggy side, but overall food was great. Limited seating. Also my 9 year old recommend the gyros, said it was 3 goods (his normal scale is 2 goods is great). Overall, they do cheesesteaks well.
If you want a classic steak and cheese Al's is the place to go. Al's has been around since I could remember growing up. The steak and cheese is always a favorite and the customer service is a mom and pop shop experience ?
It was a decent cheesesteak sandwich. Next time I'll try it with American cheese instead of provolone that I had. The half smoke with chili was disappointing especially for $7. The chili lacked a lot of flavor and was a bit dry (lacking tomato sauce). A solid 3/5
Had the chicken Philly and it was great! Not greasy at all.
Went Al's Steak House for a family celebration four adults two children. Every thing was perfect adults and children enjoyed every moment. The staff were excellent and wanted to make sure everything was just right for us. Our family all had different choices of steak but we choose Salmon Filet beautifully prepared all entrées include a starter salad. The deserts were delicious sadly I was unable to consume the whole of mine.
Being a local resident and do the best to support local food establishments. The quality is on and off. Sometime the cheesesteak is ok. Sometimes a bit salty. But still offer better taste than many places that sells philly cheese steak in Alexandria.
