THIS PLACE WAS EXCELLENT! I ordered the Jalapeño Black Bean Fritters and Smokejumper Cocktail, both of which were absolutely delicious. The number of vegan options to choose from was great and the staff was very friendly. Overall, a wonderful experience!
The food here slaps, the atmosphere is wonderful, the cocktails are great. All around a decent little hole in the wall restaurant, recently went there on a date and we both loved it. I've been here on several occasions and have always been impressed, my roommate is vegan and this is one of his favorite restaurants! The only thing I think they could work on is the bathroom situation, for how nice the restaurant is you shouldn't feel like you are entering a dirty bar bathroom.
A restaurant like no other, The Daily Planet was a very enjoyable experience. Emily, my waitress was very friendly and right on point with service. I was able to enjoy outside seating and noted the inside had great art that matched the setting. I enjoyed two adult beverages, the Smoke Jumper and the Kentucky Mash. Both were great, but the Smoke Jumper was particularly well mixed. I had two small plates; the Green Beans Almondine and the Gazpocho Verde. The The Green Beans Almindine was so good I want to try and make them at home. The Gazpocho Verde was excellent, but be prepared for a cold style soup, which I enjoy.
A friendly place with above average everything! Our food was exceptionally delicious. I can’t believe how complacent I’ve become… but when I bit into the burger, I realized how far my culinary expectations have fallen.We chose it for the vegan options though, and they were equally impressive according to my daughter.Also, the mocktails (yes I hate me too for saying that) are not to be missed.
We had a great dinner for six -- everyone loved what they got, cocktails, mocktails, chorizo nachos and multiple entrees. Meaties & vegetarians were all happy. It wasn't too busy at 7PM when we got there, but it filled in fast. Will definately go again.
We recently traveled through 3 states in one week and this was the best dining experience we had. The food was interesting and delicious, service was unbeatable, and we thought we got great value for the money spent. My drink, a mocktail with tangerine juice and basil, was so inventive and tasty, and my salmon entree was fantastic. (I think the tabbouleh side would have been better warm or even room temp, but it was still very good as served.) Desserts were OUT of this WORLD — we had the vegan mint chocolate cheesecake and the chocolate milk creme brulee, and I thought we would have to be rolled out of there in a food coma. The waitress truly went above and beyond, though, when my daughter (newly vegetarian) didn't like her entree. We ordered a second entree for her, and the waitress comped it without so much as blinking an eye. (What a contrast to another Burlington restaurant *cough*Splash*cough*) that just flat out refused to accommodate my daughter at all.) I had every expectation of paying for it; it wouldn't have occurred to me not to, so I was blown away, and it was so much more than I would expect any restaurant to do. We tipped large and will be back every time we're in town.
We got take out in Burlington VT and loved it. I got a seitan sandwich and it was delicious.My daughter got the vegan nachos and my son got a burger and they were both happy with their meals.
Excellent food and top-notch staff! Our group had a great time here. The cocktails are imaginative and tasty. The dishes are all over the place and very creative. Hard to pin down the 'type' of restaurant, and eclectic is probably a good choice. We were pleased with everything.
Great casual dining in plant-friendly setting. Delicious food options for all types of eaters. Very friendly diners and staff. You can't go wrong!
We stopped there for drinks and appetizers. It was late, and the place was full of life. The ambiance is quaint with the many plants surrounding the eating spaces. The service was quick and friendly. We had a few cocktails, along with blooming mushrooms - which were just exquisite, and some truffle fries. Had it not been for our dinner reservations, we would have stayed for dinner. We'll be back!
