Nice ambience, good selection of coffee and tea. I highly recommend the Muddy Shake since it's something you can't really get anywhere else. They're also open till 6pm which is late by Burlington standards. I just wish they also had outdoor seating.
It’s a really nice and relaxing place, I came here and had a wonderful chai tea. It has a really nice aesthetic and I will definitely come back!
Cool space, good coffee and friendly service. I wouldn't recommend for studying or working but a great place to meet up and enjoy some coffee and conversation.
It’s not easy to find a coffee shop serving decaf drinks as good as the caffeinated versions but Muddy Waters does. I could drink the iced decaf americano all day long! Since I only drink decaf, this is my new favorite coffee shop in Burlington. As other people have noted, service is a little slow if you’re in a rush but good things are worth waiting for.
The atmosphere was unique. Liked the interesting art choices and decorative finishes. Chai tea was good. Everything bagel with cream cheese was just okay.
Coffee in a tree house style surrounding, who can complain? Staff is friendly, widest selection I have seen in an average coffee shop for both food or drinks. They have smoothies, kombuchas, etc. if you're not huge on coffee but want to stop by with a friend. They always have bagels from a local bagel shop as well as plenty of baked goods, fruit parfaits, soups, and more. My *only* complaint would be that they are rather slow even when not busy, so be mindful of your time if you're in a rush (but it is worth the wait!)*Note they are selective about when they allow laptops to respect other patrons' opportunity to enjoy their business as well.
Great atmosphere and coffee selection. They have no wifi wich makes it a perfect place for me to read without distractions, plus if you get hungry they have bagels and soup! The best!
In response to Theresa’s review: like many Burlington establishments, Muddy Waters is likely requiring vaccination because of the city of Burlington’s new mask mandate. If they require vaccination, they don’t have to require mask wearing while inside. Additionally, as a vaccinated person, I feel better about being around other vaccinated people because, as she said, I can still transmit COVID. However, if I happen to give it to another vaccinated person, they will likely only have mild symptoms as opposed to if I gave it to an unvaccinated person, who could end up in the hospital, or worse. The vaccination requirement makes me feel safer as a patron. Muddy Waters is a great place - funky decor, chill vibes and great coffee. Highly recommend!
best coffee i’ve had in vermont so far. hard to get to if you do not work/live within walking distance. street parking only for a fee.
This landmark coffee house serves excellent coffees in a great environment, with friendly staff. It cannot be missed if you are ever in Burlington. Sadly tho, it is infested with selfish, self centered people who install themselves there for externe times, on thier phone, on their laptop with no regard for other customers. Now get this, Vermont is a liberal state right, and of all cities, Burlington leads the pack. But here we have an institution, a monument, glutted with this so innerly focused they are in fact depriving their fellow good coffee lovers from access to what they want, dare I say need.
