Such great customer service! The employee who gave us the rum testing was knowledgeable and friendly. We bought some items from the store and enjoyed our time there!
Great drinks and even greater service! Came in for a tasting and had an awesome time. Very cool gift shop for cocktail enthusiasts as well; stop by if you get the chance!
I was visiting Burlington, VT for the day and got really excited when I came across Mad River Distillery! I get so excited when I can find a great place for a good, authentic cocktail. Mad River is a beautiful place to stop in for a drink or two. The prices are just right and they have a nice selection of cocktails to choose from. I really enjoy bourbon and ordered the Paper Plane cocktail: bourbon, Aperol, lemon, nonino amaro. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this cocktail. This was a great stop for us!
Great local spot with excellent hospitality! I’m not a whisky drinker myself, but my party really enjoyed their tastings. The staff was well informed, and the space in front has not only Mad River bottles but also tons of great bitters and cocktail gear. Worth a visit if you’re in the area!
Fine cocktails! They managed some complex profiles, and paired good cheese. The staff was friendly and talkative. Being able to bring well behaved dogs inside on a rainy day was a huge boost.
Absolutely incredible. One word to describe this place is craft. Craft spirits, craft cocktails, craft bar supplies. Super friendly, knowledgeable and talented bartender/tasting guide/shopkeep. There are 3 different parts to this experience.1. The retail shop. The front of the space consists of a retail shop that has both their own products (clothing, spirits, bottled cocktails, and glassware). They also have a huge selection of bitters that exceeds any other store I've been to. Additionally they also have the highest quality selection of bar equipment I've seen at a store. Someone here is obviously a cocktail person.2. The tasting. For 6 dollars you get to choose four spirits (about half their lineup). Everything was at least good. The rye whiskey, however, was fantastic truly unique on its own or in a cocktail.3. The cocktails. Oftentimes these craft distillers go a little too far in trying to make sure everything is in house (whether by local rules or by trying to keep things fully "craft") of the two drinks I tried this was not the case they picked classic cocktails that accentuated their spirits with very subtle twists using their aforementioned selection of bitters. A great place for cocktail nerds and beginners alike.
The maple cask old fashioned was delicious! Service was great and everyone was friendly!
Nice retail and tasting space in central Burlington. We reserved a tasting session to try a variety of their offerings. Pleasant & knowledgeable staff helped us navigate a variety of product and some tasty snacks. The retail products were compelling enough that our group left with a variety of gear. The only pity is that their cocktail program only operates Thursday-Saturday.Worth a visit. Try their 100% rye.
The service was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. The spirits were equally great. Extensive selection of cocktail ingredients.
Very nice cocktail menu and spirit selection. We did 2 tastings (he did whiskeys, I did rums) - really reasonably priced, and we purchased several bottles to take home. Servers were very knowledgable about their products.
