Stopped for a bite and this place had really cool light jazz playing. The bar and restaurant have a great vibe. Food is good and service too. You can eat inside or out and they have tables by the windows that are open. Lots of people in and out just stopping at the bar.
We both decided on the beef bourguignon for dinner. It was very flavorful and worth the value. We ordered during the 4-5pm special and it was $24 each including soup du jour or a side salad. If I’m in Burlington again, I would love to return and try more dishes!
My family has been enjoying leunigs for years, and I understand the world we are living in and the understaffing and increasing product prices. But I must say I was extremely disappointed with the dish i ordered. For $24 I expected something with flavor, but it was over cooked and presented so poorly. Again I understand that life is weird and the restaurant was busy, I just usually think of leunigs of incredible and high end meals and I could have done better at home. I attached the picture of the meal, exactly as it was presented to me, with the sear or crust missing from the salmon. Love leunigs, perhaps this was a fluke, just disappointed.
lol never has a waitstaff given me a harder time about order shared plates & a few rounds of cocktails while providing no service - we hate it!
We haven't been to Leunig's in a number of years and were looking forward to a graduation luncheon with our HS graduate. it started off well with a delicious mocktail, but digressed quickly with the arrival of our calamari which smelled fishy and tasted like rotten fish (even after being fried!). My 15.00 cesear "salad" appeared to have been thrown on the plate and consisted of a small head of pale Romaine with a tiny bit of tasteless dressing. (they used to have an amazing Cesaer). My daughter ordered the turkey-bacon sandwich and it was inedible, not to mention $18 for a little sandwich turkey slapped between two slices of imperceptibly grilled bread, a slice of tomato, and an old piece of lettuce (with a tiny bit of jam on the bread). My husband's 'falafal" was terrible as well. We ended up sending back the calamari (I don't think I've ever done that before at a restaurant, but this was pretty outrageous). A few minutes after leaving, we all developed stomach aches! Their credit card service wasn't running, so they couldn't take cards. Too bad, or I would definitely have done a charge-back. Sorry to see Leunig's go but I guess we will be saying goodbye to that place.
Such a gem in downtown Burlington. Establishments like this one give Burlington it’s cute French-Euro charm! Despite its location on the busy Main Street, which would make most think this would be a tourist trap, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food here, especially the escargots and the braised lamb. Simply delicious!
My spouse and I went for dinner. I have some dietary limitations and I could not imagine a restaurant that could have been more accommodating. Ashley was our waitress and the manager was especially helpful. I have no idea of the manager’s name but she was quite knowledgeable about the area. Her ideas about what else to do in the area was very helpful. The food was great and the atmosphere was quite pleasant. We were delighted!
Good selection and flavourful foods. Ideal location on Church Street market place. The chicken carbonara was excellent and beautifully presented vegan cauliflower dish.
This review is for the Petit Bijou Kiosk. We couldn’t even order as the two workers didn’t even acknowledge our presence. One of the employees was more interested in talking to her friend than take care of her customers. The other employee was playing on her phone. We must have stood there for 10 minutes. We finally turned and walked away. Terrible place.
Food options were great! Lots of traditional French dishes. We had the trio of sliders, venison, duck & lamb as an app. Beef bourguignon and the Captain Cod for dinner. Super flavorful & satisfying. Dessert was the brown butter tart, delicious! I would have loved a little more acid on the sliders & cod as they were a bit heavy & rich & needed something to break through that. Overall a delicious meal.
