Lovely french bistro with terrific wine list. Attentive, knowledgeable staff. Veal was excellent. Try the homemade sorbets-delicious! Will return.

Lovely French cuisine with a beautiful presentation. We all liked our meals very much — we did the duck, hanger steak, and the leek tartlet. We also did the crème brûlée and mousse. The crème brûlée was outstanding. Our server was friendly and attentive. Thumbs up.

Beautiful space. Impressive. Excellent food and presentation. Limited menu. Duck was sold out at 8 pm seating. Scan it before you go. Amazing wine list. Sommelier. Start with a cocktail. Mask to enter and vac card required as of May 21. 2022.

After reading the reviews for Bistro Margot we expected a wonderful dining experience. Perhaps we just hit an off day for the chef but the food was very disappointing (with the exception of the cheese platter which was very good). The escargot, leek & mushroom tartlet and pan-seared cod were all mediocre. The Paris-Brest pastry dessert should have been prepared fresh but was obviously just pulled out of the refrigerator. On the positive side, our server Annie was wonderful and both of the glasses of Bordeaux were excellent. Our dinner the following evening was at the other French bistro in town which was exceptional.

I came here with my fiance for a birthday dinner Saturday night and was disappointed. My fiance is from Paris and I wanted to surprise him with an authentic meal that would remind him of home. Unfortunately, the meal did not meet expectations. The moule frite was not served with a plate and was instead served directly out of the pot. Also the sauce lacked flavor and needed more wine. The duck was not served with traditional orange, but instead had been boiled giving it an odd texture and the sauce was not appealing. The bread and wine were good, however, we would like to see traditional baguette on the menu. We were looking forward to trying the tarte tatin for dessert, but sadly this also was not on the menu the night we dined there, so we decided to skip dessert. Customer service was lacking. Our waitress Claire did not check on us until after we had finished our entrees, and the chef did not come to our table. I was especially disappointed by this since I had made reservations two weeks in advance and had let the owner know we were celebrating a birthday. Overall we were unhappy with the experience and will not be returning. There are much better dining options in Burlington and we will not recommend Bistro de Margot to friends and family.

Had cheese plate appetizer and Margot salad and they were delightful. Mussels and Arctic char entrees and they were fabulous. Then had Paris-Revisited desert to top off a outstanding meal. Great atmosphere and server was outstanding. Wine list was excellent. Has to be one of the best dining experiences in town.

I went here for my graduation dinner, as it was recommended to me by most locals that I knew. Being from D.C., my parents had high expectations. Needless to say, they were met. The trout rillette with the creamy lovage sauce were the standout app, while my dads duck magret was an all-around favorite. My dad had the mousse to finish his meal while my mom had the Paris-Brest. I, regrettably, didn’t get a dessert, which is ironic as I come by and get a Paris-Brest to-go for my girlfriend every few weeks. From start to finish, it was a well-rounded experience, thanks to the extra effort from Chef Herve and Sous Chris from the kitchen, and our wonderful server Hillary. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat!

I went to Bistro de Margot for dinner with my parents, and we had a wonderful evening together. The service was impeccable and everyone was friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely incredible. I got the mushroom tart, and the cream sauce was delicious. My parents got the mussels and the steak and both of them were thrilled with their choices. We finished the night with a crème brûlée, a paris brest, and the praline tart. They were beautifully made and were the perfect end to the evening. I would recommend a night at Bistro de Margot to anyone, it will not disappoint! Thank you for a great evening with incredible services and dishes served with perfection, we will definitely be back!

We attended for a special menu evening, so I cannot speak to the regular fare, but the quality and skill of preparation would lead me to believe what my wife and I experienced was not a fluke. Delicate and expertly prepared true French cuisine is a rarity in Vermont, but this place absolutely nails it. The chef/owner, a classically trained french master whose resume is rife with accolades, employs a highly skilled sommelier that uses the high quality wines at their disposal to create highly elevated culinary experiences. This bistro brings the quality of a Paris restaurant to Vermont.Do not miss a chance to visit Bistro de Margot

Went with a friend for dinner and had 3 dishes for each course to experience the most out of the menu. We were waited on by Hillary who was knowledgeable and friendly! Escargot and oxtail stood out for starters followed by my favorite, smoked cod with sauerkraut paired with delicious white Jura wine. Rounded it out with plenty of pastries at the end. From start to finish Bistro de Margot met my expectations and then some.
