This was my second choice for lunch, and what a nice surprise. First, the manager was awesome; very personable. He explained how the food was prepared, by his son. I had the Red pizza and it was fantastic! I also had the aptly named Everything salad; lots of crucifers, which I appreciated. Finally I topped it off with their homemade root beer. It was pleasantly herbal and not syrupy sweet. Great place to dine.

Fresh food for a great price! We got the Veggie and Carolina pizzas in the smallest size (called personal I think). This is definitely great wood fired pizza. On top of that the chocolate shake and cream soda we got were amazing!! Both were freshly made in house. The shake was the perfect blend of chocolate and cream (not too sugary!), and the cream soda was actually creamy and not too sweet as well. 10/10 recommend.

This was our second visit, and it was great both times. Arguably the best pizza spot in St. George (I said “arguably”).It’s neopolitan style, so the dough is hand tossed and cooked in a wood-fire oven. Comes out thinner than your regular American-style pizzas. We got the Margherita and the Butcher (meat-lovers). Both were fantastic. We’ve previously had the Red and the Carolina as well, and both were nice. I’d say the Margherita has been our favorite.Ask for some balsamic glaze to dip your crust. Adds a great flavor.

Visiting family and we needed a place that has Gluten-free and vegetarian options... Google offered this place.First, with that lead-in... this restaurant has NO gluten-free options for pizza dough. Funny story lol the employee literally laughed when we inquired about that, "haha! this is a PIZZA joint...!"DO note - they are a wood fire oven... and im guessing they don't wanna get wrapped up in celiac cross-contamination vs contaminated gluten-free dough as all the pizzas get cooked on the same surface (in the oven)They DO however offer salads which are indeed gluten-free. Sister ordered the strawberry salad. We ordered medium Veggie pizza (6 slice) and also a strawberry salad and a Lime Rickey (split with hubby). Brother ordered the small Butcher pizza and we had a great lunch!Atmosphere is clean and pleasant. There are tables outside for warmer days (though it's a lousy road to sit near for visiting/relaxing... I would certainly never choose the outside tables for dine-in, but they seem great for carryout waiting). All employees seemed friendly/helpful... though it is a very different order/service experience.Very chill, very laid back... Hard to articulate exactly what made it so different. It seemed like there was no "system" like everyone was randomely doing things and oddly calm. Our food was great! Timing was typical! They definitely have a system that works! I think like it better than the standard experience. ?I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Two huge thumbs up! My wife and I tried this place out last night and it was wonderful. I’m pretty upset that it took us this long to discover it (they moved here in January). We met the chef, Devin, and his father and it was all a great experience. We tried the Khachapuri, Butcher and Margherita pizzas, chocolate and pb/choc/banana gelatos, as well as the house made root beer and raspberry lemonade. I don’t think I would have changed anything. We were told the root beer is made with anywhere from 16-20+ herbs and spices and it was phenomenal. The flavor was amazing. I’d love another right now actually. We forgot to get pictures of the pizza but it was delicious with fresh and high end ingredients and cooked to wood-fired perfection. We need to spread the word on this place and keep them around! Can’t wait to go back.

Best pizza place around. We now makeIt a point to eat here every time we are in town. It’s amazing wood fired pizza that is 1000% better then any pizza chain. Also they have super unique hand made drinks/sodas. Seriously go check it out you won’t be disappointed.

As a native New Yorker, I'm probably a bit too harsh on my pizza ratings. The dough is good and ingredients were fresh and tasty. 7.5 out of 10. We didn't see any Gelato out but that might be a mid week 7pm thing.

The pizza i had was pretty good. Tasted home made and they had good portion sizes. They were pretty slow the day i went in and i still waited 30 minutes for a 8” pizza with only one order ahead of me. And it had a weird funky “olive” smell. I don’t want to NOT come back, against the food was good, but i will definitely be ordering ahead next time to save time.

We went to the new, second location of Onyx on its 2nd or 3rd day since opening, and they were functioning well making the pizza. We went for a early meal before a Saturday night movie. Only drinks available were tap water and a rather weak lemonade. I don't think they have a beer or wine menu; don't quote me, call to ask about plans,. They will be have their own sodas soon, the list looked interesting, price 2.50 -2.75, free refills? They make their own mozzarella in house but it is in teaspoon size drops. You can watch them prepare the pies with care. Sauce was tasty. Toppings for our ham (prepared in house) were fine, Calabrase, and Sausage (more fennel in the sausage or sprinkled on the pizza please) were good, but meatlovers would probably be disappointed. The crust was very thin, probably 2 mm thick but I left my micrometer at home. The crust was cooked well, it was chewy with a good mouth feel (my preference), and tasted fine. I would like a thicker botton crust maybe 3-4 mm thick. Because it is cooked in a wood oven, if charring is a problem for you, tell them you like minimal charring and ask them to watch yours carefully. They shave their Parmesan for you to sprinkle on your pizza. Because of the wood fired oven, the pizza came quickly especially for only its 2nd or third nite open. You order at the front desk, staff are pleasant and knowledgeable. It has a small, strip mall restaurant atmosphere, but it was clean. It was not crazy loud, if there was music, I don't think so, it was unobtrusive, our conversation was definitely easy There was little or no screaming by the preschool set, very important in St George. There was no gelato to serve yet, but I hear it is good at their other restaurant. Parking was fine, but we were early to get to the movie. This is probably the 3 rd or 4th restaurant that has been in this space in the past 10 yrs. I wish this non-chain restaurant success. I think a thicker crust will take care of the value proposition for me. There is NO problem with food quality or taste.

WOW! We happened upon Onyx tonight after a recommended wood fired pizza place told us they had a 1.5 to 2 hour wait for food.I am SO GLAD! This is a hidden gem (literally, GPS, find Edward Jones and turn around the corner. They are behind it!)Great service and absolutely wonderful food! This is not your run of the mill pepperoni pizza joint. Fine dining style pizzas in a very cozy atmosphere. Then! Gelato made in house! Chocolate MADE IN HOUSE! Fresh made drinks! Soda syrups made there!Everything possible was fresh and it took roughly 10 minutes for our food to be served. Do not miss out on this place!
