Good service and good food
Sad to write this. Should be a 5 star. But, they definitely fell short. And this is the second time we've had a less-than-stellar experience here. It's likely because it is on a main highway and the customer base turns over so they don't really care? We did walk in at 8:36 and apologized for being so late (drove 400 miles from Colorado through snowy conditions). They close at 9 pm. What they don't tell you is....."we have an extremely modified menu." We ordered 6 meals. One came out ice cold. Colder than room temp, if that's even possible. 4 others were like warm, one was hot. One. The server was able to nuke my wife's barely warm meal. They could not bring out another meat loaf....because they threw all the rest away. Nuked meat loaf and has brown potatoes aren't exactly great. There were NO biscuits and cornbread. They were "all thrown out." Ironically, their receipt says "Come for the biscuits, stay for the job." Should say "Come for the biscuits, but only if we have them available, and stay for the job, because you might do it better than we can." One dinner came out missing a side. "Oh. We threw away the carrots. Do you want something else?" Um. Why not tell the customer before bringing out the dinner? We talked with "Dan the Manager." Well, I almost got to finish talking, before he said "Can I speak?" In a VERY arrogant tone. My kids afterward couldn't believe the shock on my face after being talked to like I was a little kid. I just couldn't believe a manager would talk to a customer like that. Dan did let us know it was his 3rd week there. Our recommendation for them was to let customers know upon check-in that they are running super low on food and there will be a modified menu. And, that coming before closing time...should post that 8 pm is last seating, and that people need to leave by 9 pm. They should not take customers if they cannot provide quality service. Also, let the server(s) know to tell customers. When the food comes out cold and missing some items, it's too late. He asked us how to make it right. He took off the cold meat loaf and another meal (we asked for a reduction of the side item they couldn’t provide). He also did not charge us for 4 drinks (maybe to compensate for no biscuits and cornbread that come with the meals?) Dan also said he didn't know the kitchen staff and the way they did stuff. From my interaction with Dan, he did not really care. Which, is his right as a boss. But, I also have the right to never go there again. I debated returning the two vinyl LPs that I bought on the way out to Colorado. But, that would be overly petty. Overall, there are many places to choose to eat. Spend your money and choose wisely. The flower in the garden was Makenzie, the store cashier. Very happy and friendly. Actually was appreciative of us. The management team may want to take notes from her.
I ordered three breakfast sets, which were very affordable and tasted good. Favorite pancake! The environment is very comfortable and the layout is American! Great for gathering with friends!
Our waitress was FANTASTIC. My spouse had one of the best sirloins he has ever had and it was only 14.99. We have paid six times that for a steak that didn't come close to as tasty. Breakfast all day is a bonus. The wait was a bit long, but then again we were there on a weekend when it was Parade of Homes. We will definitely be back.
I like the atmosphere here for a casual meal. The store is fun. The fried chicken was way over cooked. Very dry. The breakfast meats on my wife's plate were over done as well. She said the pancakes tasted funny. I'm sure there are other meals that are spot on, but for us this time was a bust. The people here are very nice, but the cook is still in training.
We just love the breakfast and pancakes after a long weekend of playing on the trails at Sand Hollow. Allison was a great waitress. Very kind and knowledgeable.
I really love the flavor, the portions and the presentation of their food. It's very filling and wholesome. You get to shop or play checkers while you wait to be called. They have a big sitting area. It feels very homey and relaxing. The staff is exceptional! Very friendly and attentive. I LOVE their butter biscuits. They are fluffy and buttery. Their chicken is so delicious. It's juicy and tender. I try to come at least once a month.
Delicious and freshly made breakfast ? waiting time is 25min. And after set we waited another 35 min. I think it is fare to say they are sooooo slow.
Cracker Barrel is our favorite stop when traveling. Everything about them is excellent. The gift shop and the menu. It's my favorite comfort food. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
I haven’t been to a Cracker Barrel in years. We are there yesterday, it was the
