Decent food, not overly impressed. Probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back. Prices a little high for what you get.We ordered several of the meals to try a little of everything. The best way to order is the meat kabob with sides. The steak kabob was maybe the best part of the meal, sides were hit and miss. We went a little after lunch and it looked like a lot of the food was sitting out from a buffet. I ordered the flank steak and onions - steak was chewy, not the best quality. Probably wouldn't order again. As far as sides, the black beans are good (very authentic Brazilian). Oddly, the mashed potatoes might have been the best side. Surprisingly good mash potatoes. French fries just average. Rice is rice.Interesting bit of trivia: We talked to the manager a bit and this place is named after one of the mountain ranges in Utah.Overall food was good, but there's a lot of competition out there in the food here was just average.
Tushar Brazilian Express was a huge disappointment. The young man taking our order understood very little English. Even when we could pronounce the menu items, he struggled to understand. We repeated our selections 2-3 times each, and it took over five minutes to place our order. Not surprisingly, when our order came, my wife's was partially missing. I went back to the counter to discuss it. The manager stated the obvious, that the guy at the register was learning English. I responded that no one had stepped in to help him, including the owner, who was standing a few feet away. When I described what our order was missing, the manager printed a receipt and showed me that it was not on the order. He insisted that to get the missing item, I'd need to pay for it. So much for the customer being right. The food itself was disappointing. I paid $17 for "chicken stroganoff." It consisted of some white rice, shoestring fries, and chicken breast in some cheesy gravy. I was not impressed with the flavor. My wife's paper plate was equally disappointing. Only the chicken kabob had much flavor. The small Brazillian cheese rolls, touted all over the room as an appetizer, came out last. They tasted good, but $1 each seemed way overpriced.Overall, I was underwhelmed with the food ($40 total) and very disappointed with the service. I can see why the place was almost empty on a Saturday evening. We won't return.
The food here tastes really good! Unfortunately they were out of brisket when we came by and it was only 6 pm. However the onion steak was still delicious. Others in our group ordered the skewers or chicken and their food was served on paper plates. We thought that was a little odd. Their black beans (feijoda) also was great! But you can tell they’re suffering with staffing shortages. I first came here 3 years ago and I’m glad they’re still in business but I would’ve expected better than paper plates. Also we were in a large group and there was quite a mix up with our orders. But the manager came over and sorted it all out nicely.
We've been very loyal to this place for years and have loved it up to this point. I took my family there last weekend and now, without notice, they have a handwritten note taped to their door saying they no longer accept coupons on the weekends. Sadly, we turned around and went somewhere else. Not a good experience at all.
They messed up a pick up order for Door Dash and placed the wrong items in the bag labeled for the order. When my husband came back for the correct order they yelled at him that he should have checked it, even though it was a type of uncommon Brazilian food….he didn’t know it was incorrect until he tried to deliver it. He came back to get the correct item and they were very rude and unapologetic for their mistake of putting the wrong food in the bag labeled for that order. Would not recommend. Can’t speak to the food but they were very abrasive and unprofessional.
The food was good but the manager was dishonest. When we paid, we were not given an itemized receipt of our order and had to sign before seeing our food. As we sat down we realized that we overpaid. After we ate we got the itemized receipt and all of our food was overpriced. The lemonade was $2 more, feijoada $1, cheese bread $1 and then we were charged $5 for live music, which was not advertised or told to us when we got there. Compared to the online and advertised menu in the restaurant we were overcharged. I understand that prices may change but at no point were we told that we would be charged more than the advertised menu.
I’m torn, because I try really hard to support family businesses but my first experience here was not great. The mashed potatoes were cold and flavorless. No salt, nothing; other people raved about them so I guess I went on an off night. Pineapple tasted like oil and char. Steak was over cooked and salty, black beans are cold and salty. BUT the staff was so nice, the cheese bread and fried banana were SO delicious I wish I would have just ordered those. Mango lemonade is worth the price. The wait is long, but finding good help is hard everywhere so I don’t mind, just plan accordingly. We will be back and hopefully it will be a better night.
This is one of those places I highly recommend, service and the food here is totally amazing. The one I love the most here is there 4 kinds of cheeses. But this is not an American cheeses they are made from cheese that comes from Brazil. This one is another place I highly recommend. Food, service and the atmosphere is spot on.
Every time that we go to Tushar we ended having some issues, sometimes the food is not good or the service is poor. One time they put my order in the trash and we were waiting over an hour, when we asked about our order they didn’t know what happened and after came to explain to us that someone put the order in the trash.Today I asked a Brazilian Special plus a extra beef skewer, but when I get home it only has the beef skewer.
We stopped by for take out at 3:30 pm .The place was clean and pleasant staff. The menu was clear if you know a tiny bit about Brazilian cuisine.. The pricing was a little high but what is not anymore??We ordered chicken and rice and steamed veggies. Mostly rice and some mild chicken with very little spice but the veggie mix was excellent.. We also ordered the Onion Steak with veggies and black beans and fried bananas.. This is a much better combo.. The steak was nothing special the veggies excellent but the black beans were superb with sausage and meat tidbits mixed in .Yum...The fried banana was obviously wonderful.. We will likely try other options but this certainly does not compare to homemade....... Sorry
