Awesome experiance! I took my sister here for her birthday and I'm so glad we did! We've been to the other one a couple of times and it was great but the south jordan location was better! We got all her favorite foods and the service was fast and great! Food was awesome. 100% will be going back super soon!! Probably my new favorite Indian food place.
We stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. We were seated right away, onion bahji (ate it too fast to take a pic) was brought out very quickly followed by our meals. We had Butter Chicken, Navrathan Korma and Garlic Cheese Naan. It was SO GOOD!!!! Best butter chicken outside of our trip to India! If you're looking for a meal to warm your tummy, tantalize your eyes and leave you feeling well taken care of you should visit this place!
My husband and kids needed to get out of the house. We chose to try a new restaurant and are so happy we did! We have had limited exposure to Indian food. And the staff was so kind and recommended great choices we all loved! Even my 5&7 year old! We also had enough for leftovers to feed us for the next day too! We’ll be returning!
Great food, went there with my whole family and we ordered many dishes including Butter Chicken, Lamb Curry and Chicken Curry. All the dishes looked and tasted fantastic, and they came out with the food faster than we expected. I would recommend everyone to try this Indian restaurant and would for sure come back.
I don't often write negative reviews, but I did not have a great experience here. I ordered 2 meals online at 4:50 and was told online that it would be ready at 5:40 pm. I arrived at 5:40 and told the waitress I was here for my order. She nodded and then did not return. I had to tell 2 other people my name and that I was waiting for an order before asking the waiters yet again where my food was and how long it would take. Every time I asked they either would not respond and walk away or said they would check and then got side tracked helping other people. All in all, it took about 5 times of asking people and 45 minutes before my food came out. I only got a response that my food would be done soon the last 5 minutes. The rest of the 40 minutes was just waiting and asking again and again. I understand they are short staffed and that causes delays. Delays I understand. The lack of communication and chaos inside the restaurant were what really frustrated me. The staff seemed so overwhelmed, they couldn't even acknowledge people coming in the restaurants for 10 minutes some times. It was ridiculous. If they are that busy, perhaps they shouldn't be taking more orders. On a good note, their naan is delicious. But I'll be taking my business back to Saffron Valley.
This is the best place I’ve had in Utah! Every food is amazing beyond words! They’re the only Nepali/Indian restaurant that’s consistent. Staffs are very friendly and food service is also very good. I can’t get enough of this place!
For many years we have enjoyed the food and experience of both the South Jordan and downtown locations of the Himalayan Kitchen. Sadly, it appears that the South Jordan location is now operating under new management that appears have no experience running a restaurant. And they are running it poorly. We arrived for our reservation on time and noticed that the signage on the outside of the building was not illuminated, which left us wondering if the place was closed. (that was a bad sign from the get-go). We entered and were quickly seated and given menus. Then we sat for 30 minutes and watched the restaurant fill up without our table (which was right in the center of the dining area) getting any attention from restaurant staff. We watched the restaurant staff work chaotically to service patrons. There appeared to be no organization of the staff. All the same people were seating patrons, taking orders, delivering drinks and food, busing tables, etc. The staff is obviously not organized or trained in running a restaurant and it seemed like everyone was trying to do everything and no one was getting anything done efficiently. After 30 minutes sitting at our table, we finally caught the attention of one of the employees and asked if we could order. He said they would take our order "soon." Another 10 minutes went by and we asked another employee if we could order. She responded by filling up some of our empty water glasses but as soon as her pitcher of water was empty, she disappeared and never came back (leaving half of us with still empty water glasses). We waited a few more minutes and then I went to the front desk and asked the the person at the desk if we could order, as we had now been waiting 40 minutes to order. The person at the front desk was dealing with a number of angry UberEats drivers who it appeared were being told that their orders were an hour behind. I caught his attention and told him that we had been seated 40 minutes and no one had taken our order. He responded by coming to our table and taking orders. He took our orders but did not even ask for drink orders (the most profitable item on any restaurant menu), nor did he notice that all of the water glasses were empty. This was 40 minutes after we had been seated. Then we waited another 40 minutes, watching the chaos in the restaurant. Frustrated sit-down patrons not getting food, drinks, or their bill, more angry UberEats drivers, angry takeout patron not getting their orders, all as a completely disorganized restaurant staff work worked busily but ineffectively. As some point during that time, we caught the attention of someone on the staff and asked if our water glasses could be refilled. She went and got a pitcher, filled some of the glasses, and when the pitcher was empty, she disappeared and we never saw her again. I personally sat in this restaurant for 80 minutes and literally never had my empty water glass refilled. 80 minutes after being seated, our kids were getting really distressed, as they had had nothing to eat since lunch and it was now 8 PM. We caught the attention of a restaurant staffer and she told us that her computer showed that our appetizer order had been submitted "only 37 minutes ago" but she was not sure how soon the cook (is there only one cook?) would have them ready. However, she could not tell if the cook had even started on our entrees. So at this point we decided to leave. As we were walking out the front door, the man that had been at the front desk when we arrived and seated us and had finally taken our order after we had asked to order multiple times, ran to us saying that it would be just a few more minutes "maybe five or 10". We told him that our kids were too hungry at this point and that we were going to McDonalds. I realize the the pandemic has made operating a restaurant difficult. As someone who working the restaurants for many years, I try to be sensitive to that when patronizing restaurants. However, what we saw at this establishment tonight was just really bad restaurant managemen
Best Indian food I’ve had in years! The spice levels are customizable and the portions were perfect. Lots of choices on the menu and everything we had was delicious- definitely coming again
5 Stars 5 Stars 5 StarsThis place is awesome!Great tasting Naan. Great tasting chicken Tikka massala. Great lamb curry. Good serving sizes as well. Pretty much all you can ask for for an Indian restaurant. The wait was a little too ling for the food but completely worth it. I will be coming back here to try everything on the menu
Great food. We love the coconut curry. We did have a little trouble with the waitress not understanding what we want so the wrong dish came out. No worries the management promptly corrected and brought out the right one. We went for lunch plenty of tables.
