We’re from LA and randomly found this place on Yelp and Google map. We decided to give it a try because the review is very high, and we are amazed! Both the yakisoba noodle bowl and soup noodle bowl are pretty good! They are not only delicious but balanced with various veggies and good amount of proteins. If it’s available in LA, as someone who eats healthily, this will definitely becomes my go-to place!
I’ve heard good things about Zao and was excited to try it. I’m so happy to have more healthy options when it comes to eating out. I love that they gave me the option to have a veggie base in my bowl because I try to avoid rice and noodles. The steak in my bowl was really tender and yummy and I liked the teriyaki sauce. The fried onions and peanuts are an excellent addition. It was really yummy and left me feeling good when I was done eating.
Food here is great but someone already commented on it below: there is an ALARMINGLY small amount of chicken in the bowls. I waited till my second visit to write this. If they just had a normal amount of chicken in there this place would be a 6/5.
Zao Asian Cafe is absolutely delicious. I have some dietary needs and it's difficult when it comes to eating out. When I eat at Zao though, it makes me feel so good and is really yummy. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that's looking for a refreshing, healthy place to eat.
Have been a long time fan but I’ve noticed at this location, I’m getting 90% rice and barely any of the meat and veggies I used to get from Zao. I’d assume they’ve had to cut corners with the economy the way it is but I’d happily pay an extra dollar or two if it means I get more than mostly rice. Hard to justify paying $10-$12 a bowl for little protein/veggies.
Love this place, light, refreshing, fulfilling. I wish we had one back home, I'd be there ALL the time
Wow super fresh, fast food, but not fast foodie! Great flavors
I’m allergic to wheat and eggs. This place has lots of good options for those with food allergies. They have an allergen menu posted online and I’ve never gotten sick here. Yay!
Yum and the staff were so nice to wait for us to finish eating :)
Zao Asian Cafe is great! It’s kind of like a chipotle but Asian. My go to is usually the yellow curry with chicken but I’ve also had the steak tacos and they’re very good. Everything is always very fresh, and there’s lots of options to add to your tacos or curry. The only topping I don’t like is their broccoli. It pretty consistently tastes kinda burnt. But you don’t have to add it. TIP: if you’re gonna get curry, I would ask for a little extra sauce. You get quite a bit of rice and toppings and the one serving of sauce can be a little thin.
