There are several things that are weird with this restaurant. First you have to wait at lunch time in the entrance even when not all the tables are full. They take your order and you pay & tip before you eat. After you sit down they serve you water or drinks and bring the order to your table. I don't know why, who knows man. I didn't like the sweet and sour chicken, here a picture below.
Disclaimer: I am not a Thai food expert, but, what I had was quite delicious. It was the lunch special which is pretty awesome. You get 2 entrees, jasmine rice, and 2 flat wonton like things (no filling) for $10. I got the pan gang curry which was a great combo of sweet, nutty, and a little kick. I also got the chicken stir fry. It was yummy too but the curry had me licking the bowl. I know it’s just rice, but it was the perfect consistency (not mushy not stiff) and so so good. The service was great as well.
I have to leave a review I’ve been coming to this place 7 years now. My ex husband took me on my first date here and i never stopped eating here! They are always top notch, I can’t even say enough good things about the food and the service. I had my kids in the car today for a to go order they let me park my car and sit outside since it wasn’t busy and brought me my food. Thoughtful staff goes a long way for a single mother! This place rocks. Eat here. Try the green curry.
We have only tried their lunch specials (2 times so far) which give plenty of option to choose from. We have tried Hot & Sour soup, Tom Ga soup, BBQ Chicken, Green curry , all good. Service needs to improve as there is no one checking on you or to ask for things once food is given to you. Clean environment, Tasty food, We will definitely come back here.
We LOVE Simply Thai! It’s a wonderful restaurant that my family of 5 (with three small kids) all enjoy… something that is not easy to find with picky eaters. I have to eat gluten-free and everything is clearly labeled with LOTS of delicious options. We’ve taken family and friends here and everyone loves it.
Best Thai food in Salt Lake. Very clean and very friendly staff! Owner came out and greeted every table. Even the dessert was yummy! Can handle groups of 10 or more. In-house dining is done by ordering and paying for what you want at the front counter. Then you take your seat and they bring it to you! We plan to return!
I'm from out of town and have tried many different Thai places from all over. Whenever I come to SLC for the past 6 years, I make it a point to come to this place. Food, hands down, is the best. I'm always satisfied. I usually get the pad Grapow and if I'm there for lunch, I get the 2 entre special and add the massaman curry. Very good Thai food. They seem to be trying very hard service wise during the COVID mess. I'm sure they will get back to where they were. Wonderful people who are trying to serve the community with great Thai food. Thank you Simply Thai.
Is there such a thing as too much chicken look at the photo there's no sauce no carrots no potatoes don't know why they gave me the rice there's no sauce to put it on and they took me literally when I wanted shrimp look the size of that shrimp pretty shrimpy would not recommend this place.
Anytime I go for Thai at a restaurant I'm not familiar with I order the shrimp Pad Thai. Today I ordered said dish and was not disappointed in the flavor, the noodles were cooked perfect and the seasonings used were amazing. The downside for me? The dish came to just over $15. My "shrimp Pad Thai" had 4 shrimp with the tails still on. I've never had it prepared like this at another Thai restaurant. 4 shrimp? Really? Again, the dish was delicious but I don't believe I will eat here again
I’ve been going to ST since it opened many years ago. It’s been one of my favorite Thai spots in Utah. I haven’t been since the pandemic and went there with my family this week.Sadly Simply Thai is just not what it used to be. Not sure if this is temporary, but they make you order at the front counter. No more fountain drinks. CANS ONLY. The cans and Kirkland water are in a mini fridge under the counter and they hand them to you when you order. Oh, $3 per can!!!The food is not quite the same either. Not sure if this is linked to supply chain issues, ingredient costs going up. The food quality has definitely slipped. I might give them another shot in a yearish.Sadly Simply Thai is just not what it used to be. Not sure if this is temporary, but they make you order at the front counter. No more fountain drinks. Cans are a deal breaker for me though. I won’t be back until the fountains return.
