This place is truly exceptional. From the ambiance to the service and most importantly the food. Appetizers, drinks, entrees, and desserts are all must trys.Definitely returning soon. I anticipate I'll become fully addicted to this place.
This place is hands down the worst Indian restaurant I've ever been to. This is the first review I've ever written, and my purpose is to warn you of what you are likely to experience if you choose to eat here.Tamarind sauce and mint chutney served with appetizers are watery and not very good.Rice is not basmati, but rather cheap white rice, which is overcooked and watery. The most expensive items, such as chicken tikka, comes with a sauce on top to try to hide the fact that it is not fresh from the tandoor. The garlic naan is made with garlic powder, instead of the typical minced garlic.Don't expect fresh cilantro garnish on entrees.Other reviewers are also correct that the flavors of the various curries are off. When I talked to the manager about the terrible rice, he insisted it was not terrible, and exclaimed "it's Utah," and "we get the ingredients we get," deflecting blame to the cheap ingredients. He then says that the basmati rice is an upcharge, and while better than the first rice we were given, it was still too soft.I ordered chicken vindaloo, hot, which they served to my son, while giving me medium. The problem seems to be the cooking more than the ingredients. Everything is rushed out like a bad catering job, and it's clear they cut many corners in this place. Our server was good, and the manager was friendly. The manager, and I assume the owner of this place, simply don't know what they are doing, and may not even know good Indian food from bad. They are rushing reheated food out, and taking advantage of people that may not know what Indian food is supposed to be like. The prices are quite high given the low quality food. The country of India should sanction this restaurant as it's a national embarrassment.
We have been patrons of Royal India since their opening. Tonight was the first time I would not recommend their food to lovers of Indian cuisine. I have honestly eaten food cart food that is better. I don't understand what happened, but that was the worst food I have eaten in years. Huge waste of $60 for two people to dine on salty rice, bland sauces and garlic Naan that was...well...brutally bland, dense and cardboard like. "Disappointment" would be kind to say about our food this evening.
Delicious!!!! Although medium was wayyy spicy for me! Got the mango chicken and tikka masala, and mango lassi! Amazing! And great rice and potatoe naan and garlic naan
We have enjoyed eating here for many years. In our opinion it was some of the most delicious Indian food in Sandy. Tonight we got our takeout Tikka Masala and Coconut Kurma and the recipe was different and not delicious. I’m not sure if they have new ownership but the tastes have changed and not for the better.
Food was very good but I thought the portion size was a little small.
After calling several restaurants that had long wait times, we were extremely happy to have found this place. Wait time was short, food came quickly, and the food was beyond our expectations. Absolutely delicious that we had to order more. Service was excellent. A few other people aside from our waitress came to check how we were doing. We definitely felt taken care of.
Their garlic naan was a highlight. The service is good, in fact, I would say there were too many people coming up to my table to make sure I was OK. Very friendly and fast service though.
We’ve been frequent customers for years and have been very happy with the quality of their food.
Old (by at least a day) white rice instead of basmati rice. The naan had to be of same vintage. Lamb was questionable but the sauces were passable. I'd suggest India house for the money.
