We were looking to try a new Chinese Restaurant so we gave Joy Luck in Sandy a try. It was a take out order, it was packaged well and service was timely. I absolutely love Hot and Sour soup, a reviewer said Joy Luck’s hot and sour was some of the best they ever had, so I gave it a go. I was not impressed. The was broth was super dark, very beefy flavor, as though the mushrooms, and hot and sour flavors were a side note to the overly beefy broth. My husband had the Creamy Egg Drop Soup and he was not impressed with the soup. We ordered separate entrees so we could share dishes and have leftovers. My husband ordered Honey Walnut Shrimp, it was very good, it was our favorite part of the meal. We also ordered Chicken Chow Mein with crisp noodles, it was okay, could be considered good although the chicken and vegetables were in very large pieces, good but not crave worthy. Lastly we had Ham Fried rice, we found it very bland. The dinner was very expensive for what we got, with tip and tax we were over $70.00. I will stick with my go to restaurant, Red Dragon Bistro in South Jordan.
Wow! What an amazing experience! Our server, Min, was phenomenal. He was friendly and funny and kind and reassuring. My wife has celiacs and an onion allergy so she hasn’t had good Chinese food in years. Joy Luck makes everything to order and most of their fried dishes use gluten free breading so she was able to have Orange Chicken for the first time in like a decade. We never once felt like we were inconveniencing Min, even when we had him double check things for us.Truly a great experience and some great food. Definitely coming back!
I may or may not be addicted to their egg rolls (the non-vegetarian option). You'll not find better service than this place. The staff is incredibly attentive and totally flexible with your meal options, such as ditching vegetables for a picky eater (that's me!) and they definitely bring the joy to the meal. I have only the best reviews for this place. I'm undeniably a regular here, and will continue going out of my way to keep this place as a staple in my restaurant fun. I recommend the honey walnut shrimp with brown rice and egg rolls. So. Good!
Amazing dining experience.Went to lunch with a friend and it was perfect. I can't say enough good things about the service--They were attentive without being overbearing. We lingered to catch up and they did not rush us at all. We had some dietary needs and they went above and beyond to accommodate and reassure us that everything was up to a high standard. And it was! The food was just scrumptious--the flavor, textures, presentation, and balance were 100% on point, A+, 5 stars, amazing. All in all I definitely recommend this restaurant and will return.
Amazing. Just amazing. We came for lunch. The waiter guided me thru the menu. They had hot and sour soup and ham fried rice gluten free!!!!Awesome service. Amazing food. My husband loved the chow mein noodles and was just eating them (grossly) by the handful. He said he hasn't had noodles that good since we left the East!10 stars!
I got the hot and sour soup and tangerine chicken. I have celiac so I substituted vegetables for the appetizer (none of which are gluten free). They use potato starch and corn starch for their battered goods, which is great for someone who has to eat gluten-free. The server was very helpful in crossing out gluten-containing items from the menu for me. I hadn’t had Chinese since my celiac diagnosis, and I was in heaven here. I’ll definitely be back.
Just in town for the week and oh my gosh am I happy we found this spot ! Food was SO delicious and lots of vegetarian options. The service was also so wonderful. Our waiting was cool as heck and gave us (to go) a drink refill, cup for extra tea, extra rice, and disposable plates/untensils since we're in a hotel. Very happy would recommend!!
We love Joy Luck. They do a fantastic job with our dietary needs (gluten-free). Our server took our order of 8 dishes without writing anything down and delivered it all to the table with perfection. Very friendly staff.
The food is always tasty here, and made fresh- if what you want isn't on the menu, ask and they may be able to accommodate. The portions have generally been more then I can eat in one sitting, and makes great lunch the next day. No kids menu, but they have been happy to portion for kids, and is family friendly.
I enjoyed Joy Luck! I had their lunch special with hot & sour soup, cheese wontons, and general Tso’s chicken. The soup was good, the chicken was good, the wontons were great, and the price was a steal. I kind of wish I had tried something a little more adventurous—because the chicken was pretty standard Chinese American cuisine. But it was still fresh, tasty, and we were given plenty of food. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. I’d be happy to go back.
