It's 2am on a Friday night and we had just missed McDonald's and Taco Bell's Drive-Thru (trust me we tried). My girlfriend was stoning me about getting a late night fix. If I'm being honest I was hungry too but it's easier to just put the blame all on her. We find this Del Taco in Sandy as our only salvation. We follow this tired maroon Hyundai Elantra up to the glowing menu. They're advertising these $2 mini shakes which sound pretty dope at first glance. We order one of those and 2 "epic loaded queso burrito[s]." They tell us the shake machine is currently being cleaned. Skeptically I asked if it's normal to clean the shake machine at such a strange time. "Yes we always clean it at 2am." I found that hard to believe but it's worth noting I wasn't feeling particularly confrontational. After all, I had been wearing my girlfriend's patience thin this past month, and an altercation at a Del Taco Drive-Thru could've been the final straw. Could these $7 burritos be our saving grace? Maybe. But it's about what you'd expect from your only offering in the thick of a Salt Lake City night. I think we'll need more help righting this ship boys.
Sat at the window to order for over 10 minutes. Finally pull up to the window thinking the intercom must be broken? Sit at the window for 2 minutes before this woman finally graces me with her presence. Asks me if I ordered (must've been the person behind me) and I replied no, I still need to order and had waited for 10 minutes. The girl was very dismissive and completely unapologetic. Telling me to get back in the line I had already waited in! I told her I was fine waiting and wanted to speak to a manager. She said she was the manager and refused to give me her name or a real manager. As soon as I started to record the interaction, everything changed. She became very willing to take my order at this point. Happy I checked before leaving because she definitely missed a couple items. Just wow. Even had some nice things to say as I was leaving. So unbelievably unprofessional it was pathetic
If you go here, don't expect it to be quick or easy, and don't expect to get the food you ordered either. Every single time I have been here they have gotten my order wrong, even when I have explicitly stated my order 4+ times both at the intercom and at the window. The workers will seemingly go out of their way to make even a simple drive through experience unnecessarily difficult for no reason.Adding on top of that, my most recent visit is definitely my final straw with this establishment. Not only did I receive an incorrect order, but there was MOLD on my taco. Avoid this place at all costs.
Great food for the price! The staff is friendly and efficient most nights. The wife and I usually stop by after our grave shift for some grub. Don't go Friday mornings between 3 and 4 though as their system is always testing.
Got a 3 layer queso nacho and this is all it had on it literally 2 chips had beans and queso on it
There was a small mistake in my order the week before, and I talked with the manager Wendy when I got home. She made it right, and I am 100% satisfied. This is a clean operation and I felt safe inside this store. I recommend this store.
Great service. Dependable food. This visit my wife missed the bags, and dropped one at the drive through. Which happen to be the hard tacos. The employee immediately noticed, and replaced the broken tacos. Made our day to know that someone at this location was watching out for us. Thank you team Taco.
I don't normally post reviews, but my girlfriend and I are visiting Utah and wanted to try out the del taco near our Airbnb. We both ordered and it tasted good, but after a while we both felt nauseous. We never threw up food, but didn't want to ruin our ski trip. So we purged it all out. Something about the food quality is not sitting right. Feverish/feeling sick hopefully someone doesn't get the same issue.
Good ...and cheap!! ( my kinda thing)! Lol fast food is usually so wildly unhealthful. This is fresh mex (ish) .oh heck ,you all know what Del Taco is by now!!
I’ve loved del taco for YEARS and think they’re a great option for affordable tacos, but almost every time I’ve gone to this location, the wait times have been unreal (which I will give the benefit of the doubt because of the working shortage in regards to the pandemic) and about 90% of the time my order is wrong. I want to keep eating here because I like the food and theyre a great option when I’m hungry at 2:30 AM, just wish they could be more consistent.
