Wonderful Indian food. I tried all three chicken entrees and they were so yummy. The spicy chicken I just did a small sample and I wish I would have got more. I got my Indian spices euphoria. I missed that from the Indian ladies bringing home made food to work. I wish we had this place at the Oregon coast.
Inconsistency thy name is Zimbu. This score was difficult. If you love curry you're probably going to eat here anyway since it's so rare to have curry in a food court, and if you don't know what you want, I don't know if this should your introduction to Indian curry.I eat here reasonably often, pretty much every time I come to City Creek, and no two visits have been the same. Ranging from my initial experience here which was quite excellent, to a few other visits which almost made me stop coming. But I love curry, so I keep coming back, hoping that this time it will be good again.Am I involved in an unhealthy relationship? I might need to rethink my life choices.I always order Tikka Chicken with Tikka Masala and Roasted Chicken with Coconut Curry. Between the two, the Tikka Masala has been a little more consistent. Generally a light tomato paste based curry. To my taste, I appreciate that Zimbu's offering has never dropped too deeply into the tomato paste as some recipes do. Today's version actually tasted quite good, but for some reason the chicken was cut into 1" thick slices of chicken breast and not fully warmed through. Very strange. The roasted chicken this time was much better than it has been, still a bit thick in the cut, but reasonable, and today it wasn't severely overcooked. The coconut curry however was middle of the road for Zimbu's track record. Tasting more like a sour cream sauce than a coconut curry, but not diving to the depths of crazy that they have served me in the past.Truth is that 3 stars is generous for what I've been served here before, but I can hope for better things in the future right? Hope is rarely a personality trait of my reviews, but today was... OK. And I know I will eat here again because I love curry, so how could give less than 3 stars?
This was so much better than I had even hoped for! The rice, chicken tiki masala w/ tiki sauce, and the samosa were all excellent! I also enjoyed the momo sauce but it was a little spicier than I am used to. Small bites of yummy goodness followed by lots of ice water! I'm working on rebuilding my spice tolerance but this was perfect for my husband. Service was great, food was excellent, and it was well worth the cost.
I had to wait 10 minutes for someone to come out and help me. The server was rude and the food was disgusting and inauthentic. The mango lemonade I got was clearly made from country time mix.
I adore Indian food when traveling-- great way to find healthy meals. Enjoyed the food here for lunch AND dinner the same day. Had the lunch special with Zimbu Veg Pulao with Chicken Tikka and Chana Masala. So flavorful I returned for supper, and enjoyed Veg Pulao (again!) this time with Chicken Chili and Tofu Chili with the Tikka Masala sauce and a Mango Lassi for desert. A well priced gem of a restaurant tucked into a food court.
Food was good! However ordered the special for 8.99 and was charged for plate 11.99. I didn't feel like arguing after bringing up the price to employee so I relented. I would give 5 stars if not for the bait and switch.
Naan was stale like it had been under a heat lamp too long. The curry sauce wasn’t flavorful. The employee serving it wasn’t wearing a mask. Overall disappointing. Spent $16 on a meal I couldn’t even finish.
Lady was to busy talking on the phone. Quantity and quality was very poor. The coconut sauce wasn't to bad though.
Such good food! I just picked things off the menu I'd never heard of before and everything was delicious!
This place is the best out of all the restaurants in city creek trust me
