There are lots of cool bird species to look at and learn more about. If you want a more up close and personal introduction to some of the birds, go to the Bird Show! The Birdfeeder Cafe was a good stop for some Dole whip to eat while walking around.
I didn't know what to expect coming to this place but let me tell you, it's actually pretty fun. Of course, it's like a zoo with only birds. But the birds were pretty cool. It's not a huge aviary but it's just big enough. They have a little Cafe that sells drinks, a little bit of food, and my favorite, DOLE WHIP. ?. Water was also a reasonable price and they sell it in reusable aluminum bottles.Overall, great fun for the kids and the whole family .
I love birds so obviously during my 24-hour stop in Salt Lake City I had to drag my friends over to the fantastic Tracy Aviary! This is a fun place to see some absolutely gorgeous birds up close that you couldn’t see in the wild in North America. The lorikeets, the kookaburras, the flamingos, and the toucans were highlights. Everything is laid out so you can walk through and not worry about missing anything. It is very nicely landscaped and has plenty of big shade trees so it was still a pleasant experience on a hot day. I think this is a good stop for all ages – there were lots of kids there but also plenty of folks just there to see the birds, learn, and have a walk in the park that isn’t typical! My only note is that, if you’re going in 2022, expect quite a few exhibit closures due to an avian flu that is going around. The waterfowl exhibit is closed, as is the lorikeet experience and a few others. You can still see some of the birds from outside, but it isn’t the full immersive experience you might expect.
One of my favorite places in Salt Lake! Kids love running around to see all the colorful birds; I love watching the flamingos! The owl forest is peaceful, and the swans are beautiful! It's all a very relaxing experience.
Beautiful and clean environment with a great variety of birds. If you visit, look for the friendliest crow I have ever met, Curie! She flies about and says hello when something strikes her fancy. The staff are happy to talk about the different birds and clearly love the animals so much. We visited for a school field trip and the kids loved it.
Perfect place for a 1-2 hour visit. The little exhibits are perfect for the whole family. Such a good variety of need birds. Lots to see and explore. It is very accessible and easy to walk around. The owl exhibit was a hit in our family but we really loved everything. There are snacks onsite. We loved the water bottle refill station in the gift shop it was so helpful. It’s is fairly priced for the time you spend and what there is to see. Definitely recommend a stop in while in SLC.
First time coming here today. And what a good choice it was. Me and my husband came here today. What a nice place to go to see all the different types of birds, the flowers were starting to bloom. It wasny loud everyone was respectful. It was clean. Peaceful to walk around. We really enjoyed it.
A family fun place to take the little one and learn more about birds. Just a nice getaway in the city. They do a few bird shows, but it is more focused on exploring. The little one had a blast!
A great little oasis hidden in the park. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the aviary and the variety of birds! Great place for young kids.
I had so much fun. It was very cold and snowy out, so there was some birds that were put away for the cold, but we still saw many of them. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable and I was impressed by how much information was easily available. I'm definitely coming back in the summer to see more!
