I recently missed my connection at the Salt Lake City Airport on an overseas trip from Stuttgart to Spokane. As a result, a colleague of mine, who has family in SLC, decided we should dine at this famous restaurant. Upon arriving, we were informed the wait would be an hour, which tells me that this is a local favorite. My friend and his son took me on a tour of this great city instead of waiting at the restaurant. When we returned, we were promptly seated. Tony A was our server. He made some great recommendations and suggested we try all the Mole sauces before deciding which one to select. I really liked several of them, but I love Aji Amarillo, which is the main ingredient in the Mole Amarillo with chicken. My friend and his son opted for the Mole Verde with chicken on one and turkey on the other. Each dish was accompanied with beans and rice as well as corn and flour tortillas. Tony recommended the Tamarindo Margarita, which was sensational. The service was great. Overall, a very good meal, which made the six hour delay worthwhile. Muchas gracias!

Our server was outstanding which made the entire experience absolutely wonderful. We were able to sample Mole sauces as well.

My wife had the combo of chile relleno, enchilada and taco and she said it was excellent. I had their special of the day. Carnitas wrapped in corn tortillas smothered in raspberry mole. What can I say? They knock it out of the park with their specialty moles. I give 10 Stars if I could.

The moles are superb as are the rest of the dishes. Order some special margaritas - they are excellent.

I was a bit nervous about the area bacause gps took us a weird way, but I’m so glad we went. The mango enchiladas are TO DIE FOR!! You must go. I will be talking about those enchiladas for years to come. So unique and delicious. Highly recommend!

The hype is real. The prices are a bit high for Mexican but the Mole was incredible. The service was incredible as well. We didn’t have a reservation and waited an hour and a half but we anticipated that and it was worth it. If I had to find a negative I’d say the guacamole was too creamy for my taste. I prefer a chunkier guac and a little bit of a kick but it was still scarfed down in no time. To do over again we would’ve planned ahead and made reservations but otherwise a great experience. *Heads Up - There were some other reviews that mentioned going over to Red Iguana 2 to have a drink in the bar while you wait but the bar is only for patrons waiting for a table at RI2.

So good to go somewhere and the food is every bit as good as you have heard. Fresh, delicious, and you can tell that they care about the quality of the food they are serving. Staff was top notch!

This place is always busy. MAKE A RESERVATION. They have heaters outside to accommodate people waiting in the cold. The building is SMALLER, this isn’t a huge restaurant, it’s family owned and the employees are friendly. My meal was pretty bland because they don’t easily alter dishes (take things off) so I had to order a simple, ordinary, bland dish. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their food. As always guacamole on the side is $$$$. I would say the prices here are a little steeper than most Mexican restaurants. Although my dish was alright, I am not sure I’ll go back anytime soon. Most people rave about this place though! I’d say it’s a good choice for Mexican in SLC (at least the best I’ve come across).

Came here on the advice of an associate while I was in town on business. Not much to look at from the outside but fascinating with the decorating on the inside. Also I’ve never been to a Mexican restaurant that plays Frank Sinatra and other golden oldies overhead, that was awesome. Now the food all three of us order different things we all liked them very much great presentation great flavor I would recommend this place just make sure you get there before noon or you are going to wait.

When I travel, I try to hit up Diner Drive ins and Dives locations. This was listed, so we had to go, especially because I love Mexican. We waited about 30 minutes to get a table on a Sunday afternoon which was good. There are more tables than imagined based on the size of the outside. The food was plentiful and amazingly delicious. The one thing I was caught off guard by is the queso dip. I literally go for queso. I know there are many ways to make queso, I guess I expected more than a velveeta based queso to come out. Overall the experience to include the service was good. In my own personal opinion, I think they need to step up their queso game :)
