I used to work here so I sometimes use my benefits to get a room for a day or two with my children as a short getaway. Always a great experience and the coffee shop has some of the best soups and salads I’ve ever had. We also had the brunch buffet a couple of times and loved it because of the variety they offer. There’s also a gift shop, a lounge coffee bar and indoor/ outdoor swimming pools. We usually stay at a tower room but one time we stayed at a garden room and it was beautiful too. I highly recommend Little America for your next hotel stay in Salt Lake City.
Stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The room was spacious, clean, and bed was comfortable. The parking was convenient and easy to get in and out of. The location was optimal, and close to everything in the downtown area. Didn't get to check out the pool, but there were always people there having fun. The air conditioner was a bit loud, and being right next to the bed, had to lower the fan to limit the noise since I'm a light sleeper. Great value for the price we paid and would definitely come back for a future stay in SLC.
Prior to check in, and the receptionist says complementary breakfast is a 6am, however, upon arrival at the buffet breakfast, they said breakfast is not included. What a disappointment. With the absurd cost for the hotel room, one would think breakfast is free compared to other hotels.Built by values by a man who wanted to give people a place for safe haven and yet the unreasonable cost to purchase breakfast! Motel 6 and Holiday Inn would provide breakfast as part of the hotel stay.In one instance, 1 hour into our stay in the room, a housekeeper came into the room announced and didn’t knock. What kind of hotel is this place! Very dissatisfied and disappointed.I’m conclusion, we decided to take the family to The Original Pancake House for breakfast.
Garden King Room was nice and bed was comfy but it smelled like strange chemicals. Reminiscent of walking into a geriatric facility. The coffee shop breakfast was great while overpriced. At the end of our stay we paid at the front desk because we had a gift card, and they had reported the $16 burger we got as a $49 charge. Girl at the front was very cold with us and wouldn’t look us in the eye, but she did fix it. However in the end we had money left (almost nothing, I think only $8) on our gift card and she wouldn’t give it back. Crazy. I’m not missing it too much but I couldn’t believe it. Not the first time I’ve been overcharged here either.
Although I had read some negative reviews prior to staying here, my wife and I enjoyed our stay and we’re happy with the hotel. We were on the first leg of a 3 state anniversary trip and upon arrival we were told we were upgraded to a tower room at no extra charge. The room was VERY large and well equipped, a definite upgrade to what I had booked. Older decor throughout the hotel but well done and a change from what we usually stay in when traveling. Just a couple of minor suggestions: provide glasses for beverages, only paper coffee cups were available. Also, our room had a spacious balcony with a great view of the city but their are no chairs to sit and enjoy it?
Just got a regular court room, it was okay. The bathroom window just opened straight to the street and anyone walking by could see if you had it open so we couldn’t use that and there’s no fan either so that sucked. The coffee maker had to sit on the very edge of the counter to reach the wall plug, good luck with that. Honestly, it was an okay room, but the problem truly lies with their breakfast buffet. It’s actually $29 a person if you’re wondering, and the price would have been fine, if the food was actually edible? The servers were great, and probably aren’t being paid nearly enough. When I say the food wasn’t edible, I mean raspberries so dry you have to drink water to get them down your throat. “French toast” that looks like hockey pucks and tastes like ???? Also, why was there a whole pitcher of milk sitting out next to the granola and questionable toppings station? Mind you, the granola and questionable toppings station is separate from the buffet, it’s like in the doorway behind the buffet… with a pitcher of milk on the edge. ?? In another doorway entrance sits the pastries station but they could have fooled me, they looked like stale dry wall decor. Speaking of wall decor, it’s fine, everything’s fine. What’s not fine is how they did my man Arthur Chapman. Wild West more like wild decisions and tacky decor that did not pay off. Overall, very disappointing for the price you pay. I came with low expectations and still got disappointed. Other than that, the receptionist won’t tell you that you need your room key to get out of the parking garage even for check out. We were told “yeah that’s fine!” when we asked if we were supposed to drop them in the box in the lobby and then the parking meter tried to charge us $30 for parking. We had to walk all the way back inside from the parking lot just for her to tell us that. Luckily they just said they’d buzz us through since they had already charged the mandatory $15 for parking overnight to our room (that’s per night by the way). All in all, will probably never personally go back. There’s plenty of hotels in Salt Lake City and this one just isn’t it.
My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary and had a lovely time! The hot tub is open later than most and the room service was quick and tasty. The room was very large with an oversized bath tub and two balconies with views. I reserved the getaway package, which included a bag of goodies, free parking, and a $60 hotel credit. Plus, it is near our favorite restaurant, so perfect downtown location and beautiful grounds. Definitely recommend!
Good location. Lobby was good. The rooms were old. The furniture was pretty dated (some might see it as a feature though). There were stains on the upholstery (see pictures). Room needed some fixes (see pictures, the closet door does not have a wing).During night I did not hear anybody but there was a constant ticking noise coming from somewhere out of the room. Ice makers in the corridor were also making some annoying constantly. I had my ear plugs with me so I was fine.
Literally stayed here over a hundred times. We were down for a medical emergency and asked to extend one day. Met at the front desk with someone devoid of a personality and were told no chance. I will encourage everyone I know to avoid this location and any others attached to it. When you’re given an time to shine and you treat “customers” this way this was the true test. Take your business somewhere it’s appreciated and recognized an move on!!!!
I chose this hotel for my one year wedding anniversary with my husband. Where the main desk is to check in, is beautiful, but the rooms are a completely different story. There were stains all over the floor, the walls were dirty, the heating/air system was dysfunctional, the heating vents were hanging halfway out of the walls, the wallpaper was coming off in certain places. Absolutely no effort to clean this room before we checked in, or keeping up on the maintenance of the room. I went to sit in a chair to do my hair and there was a huge red stain on the chair. We ended up leaving and not even staying the night. If I could give a negative review I would. The $100 deposit is absolutely ridiculous, I would expect that amount from a nice hotel but this was disgusting. Very disappointed.
