Had a layover in Salt Lake City and stepped into Capital Grille, one of my favorite restaurants in California. As soon as we sat at the bar we were greeted warmly by the bartender, Amelia and she gave us food recommendations. I travel the world tasting different Espresso Martini, and this is by far my favorite one. (It doesn’t compare to the one in one in Costa Mesa, California where I reside). It is served with some “Kona dust” (Kona coffee and Cocoa powder) which is a first. The Liquor they use is Borghetti (from Italy). Highly recommend it!!!Amelia recommended the Sushi-Grade Sesame Seared Tuna with Gingered rice and it was fantastic, my college had the Wedge salad with Bleu Cheese and she loved it.I was going to leave but Bill (another bartender) was extremely personable and we had great conversations and stayed much longer. Great vibes at this location! Will continue coming back when I am in town.

Our friends took my wife and I here for our birthdays celebration. What a fun time!Excellent and friendly staff and service! ??The steak and sea bass was delicious!

The food and the service were impeccable. Took my wife here for our anniversary. The prosciutto wrapped mozzarella may very well by the best appetizer I have ever had. The bone in filet mignon special was amazingly flavorful and tender, the tuna was excellent. Daniel took great care of us. I have been to most of the prime steakhouses in Salt Lake and this is one of the best.

We dined at the Capital Grille for our anniversary. They truly went the extra mile to make everything special and it showed. When we arrived the table was decorated and had a handwritten anniversary card waiting for us.We ordered cocktails - the blackberry sidecar and the Cosmo and they were great - strong in the best way. We then had the lobster and crab cakes for our appetizer along with the complimentary breads. The bread was fresh and delicious. The lobster and crab cakes were great! They had plenty of large chunks of meat and were very flavorful. Next, we shared the French onion soup. Next time I would definitely each order our own, because it was so incredible I didn’t want to share! Truly the best I have ever had, and I can’t stop thinking about it even still! For our main course my husband had the special of the night, a bone in filet, and I had the kona coffee rubbed filet with shallot butter. Both were absolutely fantastic - cooked to perfection, juicy and tender, and so much flavor. For our sides we had the lobster Mac and cheese and the soy glazed bacon Brussels sprouts. Whatever you do, DON’T skip the Brussels sprouts! They were AMAZING! The lobster Mac was also so delicious and cooked extremely well with large pieces of lobster throughout. With dinner we also had a glass of I believe the summer breeze rose and it was excellent. For dessert we were brought a cute plate that said happy anniversary that had a sampling of their chocolate espresso cake and brûlée cheesecake with fresh berries. We also ordered a crèmeBrûlée. All three desserts were delicious. I have never had cheesecake brûléed and it was to die for.We can’t wait to go back and dine here again. The experience was so fantastic and the food was incredible!

This is nice place to bring your significant other. They are always making sure you're taken care of. We reserve a few days in advance for our anniversary. I like how they had it set up for that occasion...they had a happy anniversary card and decorated our table. Thank you The Capital Grill.

This was my first time eating here and I’m so happy I did. Our waiter Joseph was friendly and attentive and did a great job answering questions and taking care of our drinks. The manager came over and checked on us after our meal, which was nice. Not pictured is the lobster bisque and French Onion soup. Both were delicious, the Lobster Bisque was the best I’ve ever had. Nice chunks of lobster and even a whole claw. We got the special for the entree. Bone in Filet and South African Lobster tail. I’ve had plenty of filets and tails in my time. The tail was the most delectable, non fishy, not chewy, and most delicious tail that we have had. The filet was perfectly cooked and tender. By far the best we’ve ever had. A lot of bests here. Better than Ruth Chris, better than Teton House and Morton’s. We also go the fresh mint lemonade, I could drink a gallon of that a day. For dessert definitely recommend the cheesecake and coconut cream pie. As pictured they were delicious. For sides we had Brussel Sprouts and Lobster Mac. This has been the best fine dining we’ve experienced. Looking forward to going back.

Went here for my graduation dinner and was really impressed at the extra mile that the staff went to make sure it was a memorable experience. When I arrived a congratulatory card was on my table, which was a nice touch. Then during my dinner, my steak wasn't entirely cooked to the way I preferred. Without even letting the staff know, a manager observed me slide a piece of meat to the edge of my dish. The manager immediately came to my side and helped get this resolved. I just was really impressed with the level of attentiveness. Highly recommend The Capital Grille for any special occasion.

Does it Dethrone Ruth’s Chris? Not quite. I’d give it a 4.5 out of 5.00.Cons: The calamari has no sauce and the croutons in the salad were chewy. Not crunchy. There was also quite a long wait between appetizers and entree.Pros: Steaks were fantastic. The 15 year aged balsamic that came with mine was magic. The overall service as well is top notch and probably better than Ruth’s. They have a crumber. Someone that comes by just to de crumb your table. ??‍♂️.Overall: If you want a really good simple steak Ruth’s Chris is hard to beat. If you want the top notch fine dining experience with and some steaks with some extra flare then you will be satisfied at Capital Grill. I’m definitely happy to finally have one in Salt Lake. The more steakhouses the merrier!

If Flemming and Ruth's Chris had a baby, it would be this place. The Capital Grille is now among my favorite restaurants in all of Utah. I even had a steak brought out slightly over cooked (barely). My server noticed. I was brought a new steak. Shout out to Daniel for PERFECT service. He even asked if I wanted both steaks. My reply, "who has 2 thumbs and love steak". Last thing. I NEVER thought I'd give a shout-out to calamari. But holy cow, theirs is the best I I've ever had (if you like spicy).

Outstanding customer service, our server. Claudia took outstanding care of our group. She even went out of her way to make recommendations for our 7-year-old daughter. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the chefs recommendations were on point?. We will definitely be back.
