Left a few grains of rice on the place so I could say "Well, I didn't eat ALL of it!". If plate licking were socially acceptable I would have done so for the best ever massaman curry sauce. I could eat a big bowl of just the coconut milk based curry sauce with big, bright, fresh ingredients. All homemade. Eat local. Prices are very reasonable. Casual, hidden in a strip parking lot.

Sensational Thai food. The owners of this restaurant are delightful, and shared wonderful recommendations with our family. My husband and I love visiting Thailand, and the food at Thai Issan tastes authentic, fresh, and delicious. We will definitely be back. It was very easy to order vegan dishes. The omnivores in our group loved the food too.I simply can not leave a glowing enough review. Fantastic food!

Stopped here during our cross country road trip after seeing someone on TikTok say it was good. (That will be my last time taking a recommendation from there lol) food is not authentic at all. I’m half Laotian and spent lots of time in Thailand over the years. The food was Chinese styled. The veggies in the spring rolls were wilted and tasted like they should have been tossed days ago. The pad Thai was overwhelming and tasted more like Lo mein. The fried egg rolls were the kind you get from a Chinese restaurant, thick and full of just cabbage. If I wanted or known I would have just looked up best Chinese restaurants near me. Very disappointed and do not recommend at all. So sad, I really was hoping to have a great food experience in Salt lake. One good thing I will say is, the portions for the appetizers were big. But that made us feel worse throwing it all out.

This place is really yummy and the Husband is funny and friendly! He gives friendly service and likes to joke around. I ordered the The Curry soup and added shrimp. The flavor was great and it was a huge bowl. We will definitely be coming back. It's very hidden in the corner but worth going too!

Bad experience, first the prices on the menu do not include beef or shrimp, anything like that will be an extra so the item will have an extra charge of $3, which is sketchy. The peanut sauce, already which should have been included in the chicken was charged separately. They offered us a side of white rice for the kids, luckily we declined, as it would have been an extra $7 for a tiny bowl. The fact of being dishonest with prices annoys me and is unacceptable, then the owner wanted extra tip. Very unprofessional. Prices at this store have not been updated for years in Google Maps, they can manage and update them, but they don't. I'm never coming back, the food was blant, nothing special, egg rolls are frozen. Don't waste your time and money. Bathroom is filthy and I'm contacting the city to report it, as to get there I had to go through the kitchen and all the meat was among flies.

Honestly if I could give a zero I would, left a really bad taste (pun intended.) I don’t know what other’s reviews are raving about, for starters food was ok, too sweet for being Thai, the men who served us, over charged me an extra fee perhaps he’s charging for tap water or for to go box, couldn’t figure it out but that was super sneaky and dishonest in his part for doing that.Lady in the kitchen straight up kicked us out after we were done eating, told us to come pay, she said you ready to pay, we told her not yet and she said you can’t be here you need to pay now and go! We weren’t being loud or rude or privilege attitude, she just wanted us out but specially the way she asked was so in, it was 40 min before they were closing and were talking at the table I’ve haven’t experienced this ever, it wasn’t busy, we were only ones and another table it wasn’t even busy, super rude, uncomfortable & dishonest . Not going to visit this place, if they don’t make customers feel welcome. I much rather go to New Thai Cafe were prices are better, more food options on menu, better portions at better prices food is bomb they don’t tell you what you should order or not, and don’t pressure or rush you, are courteous and happy to have customers & support business they treat customers fairly.

Visiting from Indiana. Google for a Thai place and Thai Issan looked the most promising. I was skeptical, once I saw the menu, because there were so many options and that usually means lackluster food. But I was wrong! I ordered the Chicken Larb and Beef Pho. The pho broth is the best I have ever had. Ingredients are fresh and delicious. The Larb also had superior flavor. The chicken was a little dry, though that could be the toasted rice making it seem that way. However, regardless of that, I would order both again if I ever came back to Salt Lake City. If you want AUTHENTIC Thai cuisine, don't think twice and come here! I wish I could try other options on the menu. But I doubt I'll be in Salt Lake City again.

This is by far my favorite Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to! It’s not super fancy, but the food is incredible! The curry is to die for! The owner is so kind and always gives great service. And all of their food is WAY underpriced! Each dish is $3-5 cheaper than any other Thai restaurant. I always make sure to tip extra good because their food is worth way more than what they charge! This review is long over due! Don’t look any further, Thai Issan will not disappoint!

As a Thai, this is a surprise find, their isaan food is surprisingly good! The owners are friendly.

Food was yummy. Slow but very friendly service. That made up for the way too sweet Pad Thai. Busy for a Thursday night 5pm.
