My only complaint is that I didn’t come sooner. Star dishes were the mushroom/sweet potato (with a carmelized leek sauce that had clearly actually been cooked to carmelization, yum) and the lamb shoulder ragout. What a meal! The 7 course option left us full but was worth it. And the wine pairing was very thoughtful, also very much worth the add-on. It was a high-end meal for a special evening, but we were so impressed, and we’re keeping a hawk eye out for any excuse to go back asap. We sat at the chefs table, and have to give an extra shoutout to the brunette girl in the kitchen—she seemed to be on grill duty, and she was the only person in the kitchen who never stopped moving. Kudos to everyone there, including the wonderful wait staff, but the merit badge goes to the lady sous chef!
Food was tasty, some dishes were flatter than others but overall a very delicious experience. Service was absolute too notch with frequent check ins with our wait staff and good plate descriptions. Would recommend dinner here - you will spend more than normal for SLC, but would say one of the top 10 dinner spots I've been in the city.
Had our first dinner here last night with my wife... Reasonable atmosphere, with very attentive service. Unfortunately this restaurant really misses the mark on its tastings. the price is significantly higher than the value received. Surprisingly not the alcohol. The alcohol is really the most reasonable price in the experience. We did the 7 course menu, only 2 of the courses were surprising and super interesting... All in all, for 2 people we spent $400 (alcohol was $120).. I believe that the food experience was worth $100 in total.... Take this review for what it is.. if you want to spend a bunch of money on a mediocre experience, then go for it... I will not be doing this one again.
One of the best dining experiences I've had. Each course was incredible. I really appreciate when a chef can highlight produce the way that Table X does. The wine pairings were perfect as well. Oftentimes a tasting menu will leave me completely stuffed. This one filled me up of course, but was the perfect amount. Not too much. Ambiance was great. The familiarity of a hip, casual restaurant while still feeling "fancy". The chef is visible and runs food out along with everyone else. You can wear whatever and feel comfortable, yet have a 5 star night. Highly recommend.
Unequivocally and easily the best restaurant in Utah right now. And they have stepped up their game post-COVID. The creativity, the intense, unconventional flavors, the execution, and the plating is all superb! It's a shame we have no Michelin Inspectors near Utah, as Table X would most certainly earn a few stars, without doubt. Will be back often.
The ambience and the food are well aligned. They bespeak a sensibility that expresses modernity of taste and interest. The offerings try very hard to be distinctive and the effort pays off. Notable are the Kale flavored risotto and the slices of turnip on the vegetarian menu. The wine pairings were well chosen, well matched to each dish and very well described by the highly knowledgeable server. The clean open feel of the restaurant seems to especially invite couples and girls-night-out groups. Excellent service.
This is the best restaurant in the SLC area. This is my husband and I's absolute favorite restaurant. The food is exceptional and well thought out. I love how each plate's ingredients are explained to the guests. Everything from the atmosphere and service is great. We especially enjoy dining in their garden when the weather permits.
Table X not only met bu exceeded my expectations. Great and helpful staff, awesome flavor combinations and textures, and a warm ambience. My friend and I did the tasting and pairing menu. I had the non-alcoholic and my friend the alcoholic pairing. Drinks tasted great and were well-thought of. Two of my favorite dishes was the beet and fruit salad and the risotto. Did I mention they have the most amazing bread?
I really wanted to like this restaurant. I'm 100% sure the presentation would have been much better had I not ordered takeout, but this review is on the food and service I received. The service was stellar! I've never ordered takeout from this type of restaurant, so I was a little confused, lol. The server was very kind and went over their availability. I asked about bread and cheese because that's a commonly offered appetizer, but they didn't offer it. When I got there, they gave me a half loaf of bread, lol. That's so awesome, what a nice touch! Now onto the bad part. I'm not sure what was going on but the mushroom appetizer was INSANELY salty. I could barely eat it, and I love salty food! It did however, pair well with the bread. Dipping the bread in it definitely cut away some of the saltiness. :)I was a bit surprises how soupy the bavette was as well, it was drowning in the squash soup stuff. It was ok tasting, but sweet for my taste. The olive oil cake was quite delicious. It was tart but not too tart, sweet but not too sweet.. well you get the point, it was well balanced and just right in every way.I may go back in for a dine in experience or try different dishes. I really enjoyed the service, and it could have been an off night.
The food here is amazing, you won't be disappointed. The 7 course meal with the wine pairing is the way to go. The exact right amount of food and the pairing is perfect.Be prepared for about $200 a person with tip, you are paying as much for the food as you are for the experience. Unlike other restaurants this is not rushed, takes about 2 hours with enough time between to enjoy a conversation.Highly recommended for anniversary (we went for our 10th) or any other special occasions.
